Abstract
In a sash window or like panel assembly wherein each sash is rollable horizontally over a rail on the sill of a generally rectangular supporting frame, each roller of the sash is rotatably supported by an inverted-U-shaped roller support which is fixedly mounted in a selected position in a downwardly opening channel formed in the bottom horizontal member of the sash. The roller support has, typically, a pair of resilient hooks fashioned by inwardly folding the bottom ends of its opposed side portions, which hooks are engageable with respective overhangs formed on both sides of the rail throughout its full length.

4633615 - Track-inter-locking roller wheel assembly for sliding patio doors - Owned by Watsco Inc. (Hialeah, FL)

Broadside displacement of sliding patio doors from their building framework for removal from the threshold track upon lifting of the doors in attempts at unauthorized entry is prevented with the use of downwardly-extending leg portions at each side of the door roller wheel assemblies, which leg portions extend downwardly of each side of an upstanding threshold track projection upon which the roller wheels ride. In one embodiment of the invention, the roller wheel assembly leg portions terminate in mutually inwardly-directed hook portions received in slightly spaced relation below rectangular shoulders defined by a rounded head formed along the upper end of the upstanding track projection, thereby preventing removal of the roller wheel assemblies from the threshold track for unauthorized entry.

4811683 - Sliding door wheel retainer - Owned by Acme General Corporation (San Dimas, CA)

A wheel retainer prevents a wheel of a sliding or bypass door from jumping off of the floor track on which the wheel rolls. Portions are provided on the lower portion of the retainer for slidably engaging a downwardly facing portion of the track for inhibiting upward movement of the retainer from the track. Preferably this in the form of an L-shaped hook having a base wider than the opening of a dovetail slot in the track and a neck narrower than the opening of the slot. The retainer can then be installed only by pivoting the retainer relative to the track for inserting the hook. The retainer also has portions for engaging an upper portion of the wheel to prevent it from being lifted from the track. The preferred embodiment is a D-shape with an arcuate portion over the top of the wheel and barbs that prevent the retainer from accidentally being dislodged from the wheel.

5148630 - Security assembly for a sliding glass door

A security assembly for a sliding glass door of the type movably fitted within a generally rectangular supporting frame structure wherein a bottom sash includes an open channel having rollers therein for rollable engagement with a rail extending along the length of a sill of the supporting frame. Two pair of J-shaped fittings are removably attachable with a lower edge of the bottom sash at opposite ends thereof such that a hooked portion of each fitting extends upwardly within one of two longitudinal grooves formed on opposite lower sides of the rail thereby preventing lifting and removal of the door from its fitted position within the supporting frame structure.

4064592 - Retainer for sliding doors and the like - Owned by Rusco Industries, Inc. (Fullerton, CA)

Wheels for movement along a floor-mounted track at the bottom of a sliding door are shown supported within U-shaped members which are pivotally coupled to brackets secured to the lower edge of the door. The wheels are prevented from being dislodged from the track via retainer elements, each of which is a channel element having an elongated opening in its web and inturned flange terminations at the edges of its walls. An integral plate extends from one side of the channel and is pivotally mounted on the pin or stub shaft extending through the wheel and U-shaped member. The retainer element is significantly longer than the diameter of the wheel, and the flange terminations are snapped over the track and in interference relation with lips of the track. The wheel at its lower portion extends through the opening in the retainer element and rides on the track. When the door is tilted or rocked, the flange terminations remain interlocked with the lips of the track, thereby keeping the wheel on the track while permitting the U-shaped member to pivot on the wheel and the bracket to pivot on the U-shaped member in accommodating the relatively non-parallel relations of the door and track.

6434789 - Sliding glass door track engagement and method - Owned by PGT Industries, Inc. (Nokomis, FL)

A moveable sliding glass door track clip guide, ideally formed of plastic, and attached to the bead on the top of the rail on the sill which is subsequently secured in place by a sliding glass door track clip cover which will inhibit the door from jumping the track in strong wind loads. The guide contributes significantly to the general security of the SGD installation, since SGD's, by design, must be lifted then set upon their track. The guide slidably engages the upper bead on the track on the sill and thus resists the effort of the door to jump off the track by actually gripping the track itself. The method of the present invention involves the steps of first positioning a moveable panel in place. Thereafter, the main attachment screw is removed, and passed through the clip assembly. Only after the track clip guide has been positioned over the bead on the rail. The track clip cover is then secured over the track clip guide to lock the lower jaws of the track clip guide against any scissor-like action which would assist in dislodging the same.
