The disclosure relates to new 2-(substituted anilino)-methylmorpholine derivatives which possess sedative activity, to processes for the manufacture of the said morpholine derivatives, and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them. Typical of the morpholine derivatives disclosed is 2-(3-methoxyanilino)methylmorpholine.
A compound of formula (I): ##STR1## or a salt thereof; where Z represents a heterocyclic ring and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from hydrogen, nitrile, CONH.sub.2 and SO.sub.2 R.sup.4 where R.sup.4 is optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together form an optionally substituted methylene group or a bond, intermediates, compositions and insecticidal and nematocidal use.
