Abstract
A regulating valve such as especially a water tap or mixing valve, having an inlet passage and an outlet passage and a valve passage located therebetween, the cross sectional area of said valve passage being adjustable by means of movable valve actuation member, the valve passage being shaped as an elongated slot in the wall of the inlet passage, extending generally in the axial direction of the passage, and the slot being formed between opposed edges which are operatively connected with the valve actuation member so as to be mutually substantially parallelly displaceable towards and away from each other, whereby the valve can be made as a low noise valve with small space requirements. The invention provides for a mixing valve in which the individual valves for cold and hot water, respectively, can be located in a common elastomeric member very close to each other and even mounted in a narrow cartridge held in a valve housing in an easily replaceable manner. Furthermore the operation handles of the regulating valve may be located at the top of the valve housing so as to be easily accessible during normal use, despite their associated valve spindles being mounted with small mutual spacing.

4117863 - Control device for operation by the mouth of a handicapped person - Owned by Carba S.A. (Berne,CH)

The invention relates to detecting or control devices for the control of utilization circuits particularly by handicapped persons who can move only their jaws. By squeezing action of the mouth, signal lines in a pressurized fluid deformable control member are selectively controlled to perform needed control functions. This device comprises a control member of a resiliently deformable material which comprises a central reinforced, non squeezable, passage and non reinforced radial passages. The central passage and the radial passages are connected together at one end of the control member. At the other end of the control member the central passage is connected to a supply unit and the radial passages to a measuring unit by means of flexible tubular connections. A continuous signal is fed in the central passage and the intensity of the return signals in the radial passages depends on the mechanical deformation of the control member.

4313469 - Faucet assembly with pinch valves - Owned by JH Industries, Inc. (San Marcos, CA)

A faucet assembly including pinch valves for controlling the flow of hot and cold water. A base is secured to the deck of a sink from above the deck and a body secured to the base completes the faucet housing. A spout extends over the basin and includes an outlet at its end. Two flexible tubes are connected to a mixing chamber near the outlet and extend through the spout and through the base for connection to hot and cold water conduits remote from the sink deck. The tubes are normally pinched closed adjacent the mixing chamber by springs, and operating levers at opposite sides of the spout rotate about a shaft and operate a linkage and valve mechanism for overcoming the spring forces to permit flow. Lost motion connections render the spring closing forces independent of lever position. A cross bar limits lever movement and provides a support surface against which the tubes are pinched. The tubes are located in the valve region by a block which serves as a barrier to leakage.

7124776 - Water faucet having different output effects

A water faucet includes a valve body, two conducting members, a valve seat, two control valves, two control handles, and two control plates. Thus, the water faucet is available for an upright water outlet pipe and a horizontal water outlet pipe, so that the water faucet has different water output ways, thereby enhancing the versatility of the water faucet.

4071039 - Fluid pressure controlled valve assembly

A valve assembly of the type, wherein a first end of a movable plunger is adapted to collapse or compress a first tube length against an opposite tube backing or support structure in order to regulate or vary the flow conditions of a fluid in this first tube length, is equipped with a control assembly comprising a second interiorly pressurized tube length and a second or opposite end of the plunger engages this second tube length. Thus, by appropriately proportioning the sizes of the contact faces between the respective plunger ends and the tube length associated therewith it will be possible to control the flow conditions in one of the tube lengths responsive to the fluid pressure in the other tube length whereby various valve or regulating functions may be performed by the valve. The two tube lengths may be parts of one and the same tube whereby additional valve or regulating functions may be performed.

4691580 - Fluid sampling apparatus - Owned by Fosslien; Egil (Northbrook, IL)

A T-valve and a reciprocating sliding valve are utilized in lines running from an automated sampler apparatus to an analyzer apparatus. The T-valve, the sampler, the analyzer and sliding valve maintain an air bubble in the lines to assure separation between successive liquid samples running between the sampler to the analyzer or an individual sample container and the analyzer in a manual mode, the T-valve and reciprocating sliding valve permitting alternative withdrawal of samples from the automated sampler or the container in manual mode.
