Abstract
A washable, stretchable, flexible, vinyl fabric cover for enclosing an adjustable arm assembly as used in a hospital or nursing home for supporting a television receiver for viewing by a patient. The adjustable arm assembly with which the fabric cover may be used includes forward and rearward pairs of elongated arms pivotally connected at adjacent ends thereof to a central pivot plate arrangement and at opposite ends thereof to front and rear pivot plate arrangements, respectively. The fabric cover of the invention includes first and second generally-flat, generally-rectangular, elongated flexible cover sections and a flat connecting sheet joining corresponding first ends of the first and second cover sections, the opposite ends of the cover sections being cup-like in configuration. The flat connecting sheet joining the first ends of the first and second cover sections has a central section of the same material as the cover sections and first and second end sections of a stretchable material attached to the central section and to the first ends of the first and second cover sections, respectively. The first and second cover sections further include slide fasteners, in the form of zippers, along the edges of the sections. The first and second cover sections are made initially to generally respectively overlie the forward and rearward pairs of arms, which are preferably in horizontal positions at this time, and the cup-like end portion of the second section is arranged to cup around the rear pivot plate arrangement. The first cover section is then pulled in a direction away from the second cover section until the cup-like end portion of the first cover section is able to tightly grip around the front pivot plate arrangement. The flat connecting sheet joining the first and second cover sections generally overlies the central pivot plate arrangement at this time. The edges of the first and second cover sections of the fabric cover are joined together to enclose the arm assembly by use of the zippers provided at these edges.

5014693 - Ceiling-mounted gas delivering unit for use in a catheter laboratory - Owned by St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital (Houston, TX)

A low-bulk gas delivering apparatus for use in a catheter laboratory is provided. The apparatus includes a universally articulatable support arm, one end of which is adapted to mount onto a ceiling and the other end of which is mounted to a gas module. The gas module is adapted to deliver gas received from a hose which connects the gas module to a source of gas. The hose generally extends along the support arm and is disposed outside of the support arm. Therefore, the support arm is lighter, slimmer, and less bulky than previously used support arms.

4953821 - Suspension apparatus for control devices, control panels, or the like - Owned by Rittal-Werk Rudolf Loh GmbH & Co. KG (DE)

This invention relates to a suspension apparatus for control devices, control panels and the like, which can be assembled from a connection flange or connection rotary joint, support body sections, angle units, and intermediary joints which can be connected with a wall or a machine body, and a coupling unit which can be connected with the control device, the control panel or the like. There is a stable support body section providing easy installation of the connection lines and a simple connection with the adjacent parts of the suspension apparatus. The support body sections comprise an essentially U-shaped base profile section which with a separating bar proceeding in parallel to its bar is divided into a closed support part and an open, U-shaped mounting part turned away from the bar. Longitudinally directed connection bars with penetrating threaded reception mountings are integrally formed both on the support part as well as on the mounting part. The lateral limb sections of the reception mounting part proceed into the connection ends with longitudinally directed, penetrating rear-cut sections. A cover profile section which is U-shaped in cross-section, the lateral limbs of which have longitudinally directed, penetrating suspension or locking attachments, can be connected in a releasable manner with the connection ends of the reception mounting part. The reception mounting profile can thus be closed.

5310152 - Television mounting support with removable lifting assembly - Owned by Lucasey Manufacturing Company (Oakland, CA)

The invention disclosed is a television mounting frame with a removable lifting assembly for facilitating the installation of heavy equipment, particularly large televisions. A television or the like is affixed to a lower frame yolk. An upper frame yolk, which complimentarily engages with the lower yolk to form a complete frame, is mounted to an overhead structure via a hanger pipe attached to a mounting bracket. A lifting assembly is removably affixed to the hanger pipe and disposed so that the winch cable may unwind from the winch and through the hanger pipe for attachment to the television mounted on the lower frame yolk. Once attached to the cable, the television may be lifted into engagement with the upper frame yolk without the use of large and cumbersome scaffolding systems or many assistants. The winch assembly may then be removed for use in the installation of other equipment to different mounting brackets.

5876008 - Suspension system for video monitor or other equipment - Owned by Ergotron, Inc. (Eagan, MN)

A suspension system having a four bar linkage system including an angled arm for adjustable and positionable vertical and horizontal support of a video monitor or the like. A weight counterbalance adjustment mechanism adjustably compensates for various weights of a load held by the angled arm. Gas springs provide for vertical support of the angled arm. Configured slots in which the upper ends of the gas springs position provide for minimal manual positioning effort and a linear counterbalance throughout the entire range of vertical adjustment. An arm bent at an angle of 120.degree. overcomes the traditional interference of the load with movement of the arm beyond 45.degree..

5490655 - Video/data projector and monitor ceiling/wall mount - Owned by Monger Mounts, Inc. (Napa, CA)

A mount than secures a projector or monitor to a ceiling or wall is disclosed. The mount uses struts that form channels which support the projector/monitor and provide alternate channels for video and AC cabling to reduce interference. The mount may include a hook connector such that the projector or monitor can easily be detached from the ceiling or wall for installation and repair. An optional winch may be used to lower and raise the projector/monitor. Seismic cables may be added for extra support in case of earthquake.
