A portable imprinter for transferring data, in the form of raised characters on a credit card or the like, to a receiving paper by pressure. A pressure element is mounted directly in an actuator which slides in grooves formed in the wall of a frame member, and travels across an opening into which it protrudes slightly to press the receiving paper with its transfer element against the card.
An apparatus for imprinting details contained in embossed script on a credit card onto a purchase document comprises a base member of .hoarfrost.-profile in which a movable member including a pressure roller moves on castors. Lateral slots in the two walls of the base member permit the introduction--at one side of the base member--of a credit card, and of papers at the opposite side of the base member. The said movable member can be actuated by a handle pivotally attached to the base and connected by a connecting rod with the said movable member.
A manual imprinter for transferring the image of a relief formation to a writing surface, preferably to imprint a document with the number of a security seal personalized by a relief numbering. The manual imprinter, in the presently preferred embodiment, comprises a support art adapted to support the numbered portion of the security seal, and an arm carrying a graphite block, hinged to the arm. The arm has a guide for a manual actuator, to which the graphite block is fixed. When the arm is closed against the arm, the block is pressed against the numbered portion of the security seal, the document to be imprinted being interposed therebetween. The operation of the actuator forces the graphite block across the region of the relief number of the seal, resulting in the transfer of the image of the number to the document.
Transaction form systems and methods that include secure customer slips for use with traditional manual credit card imprinting techniques are provided. A transaction form system can include a cardholder slip, an accepter slip, and a duplication arrangement. The duplication arrangement can be configured to produce a complete image of a presentation instrument identifier onto the accepter slip and to produce a partial image of the presentation instrument identifier onto the cardholder slip.
