A heat engine comprising a cylindrical heat chamber having an end wall of insulating material and on which is mounted a cylinder. An opening in the end wall communicates between the heat chamber and the cylinder. The cylinder is surrounded by a cooling jacket and a piston reciprocates in the cylinder. The end of the cylinder remote from the end wall is open and a connecting rod has one end secured to the cylinder and the other end to a fly wheel. A second rod extends from the cylinder through the opening in the end wall and through another opening in a second end wall in the heat chamber. A disc like valve is slideably mounted on this rod and is moveable into a position opening and closing the opening. Cooperating elements of a dash pot are formed on the piston rod and valve at each end of the latter. A heat sink is provided on the lower side of the heat chamber and a throttle passage extends between the heat chamber and the cylinder. A needle valve cooperates with this passage and is under the control of a governor.
A solar energy collector comprises at least a first lens system having a first convex outer light receiving face facing generally in a first direction and having a first series of condensing lens elements, each having a focal plane. The focal plane of the first system collectively define a first focal surface and first metal element means is located in the first focal surface, embedded in the material of the first system. A sun motor incorporating the collector further includes at least one cylinder attached to the collector through an aperture therein. A drive room is aligned with the cylinder and contains a pair of flywheels having confronting grooves. The cylinder contains a piston which is fixedly connected to the flywheels by a piston rod. Driven shaft means are coaxial with the flywheels. A displacer rod has at its upper end a valve which opens and closes an aperture in the collector and extends through the piston rod to its lower end where it engages and follows confronting grooves in the flywheels.
There is disclosed a pneumatic driving device having a cylindrical housing in which a piston element is axially displaceable. The piston element has at its ends a front piston and a rear piston which are connected to each other by a connecting pipe. A switch element is mounted in the housing between the pistons and defines a variable front chamber with the front piston and a variable rear chamber with the rear piston. Two inlet openings acted on by pressure are formed in the housing and can be connected with the front and rear chambers respectively. The switch element, in a first position, frees the inlet opening to the rear chamber so that the rear piston travels axially outward and the front piston axially inward and, in a second position, frees the inlet opening to the front chamber so that the front piston moves axially outward and the rear piston axially inward. The inwardly moving pistons reverse the switch element between the two positions.
The present invention consists of a novel solar liquid vaporizing chamber for receiving liquids for vaporization. Hot vapors are released from the chamber and piped to desired locations while additional liquids are introduced into the chamber for vaporization.
