A light alloy body structure particularly for transport vehicles, including a top structure and said structures fixed along longitudinal edges of the top structure extending transverse thereto. At each of the two longitudinal edges of the top structure of the vehicle a composite longeron member is provided having a curved cross-section. The longeron member consists of two mating elongated shaped members rigidly connected to each other along longitudinally extending mating surfaces thereof and connecting the top structures with the respective side structure of the body structure of the vehicle.
The present invention relates to an improved vehicle body construction which comprises a plurality of horizontal and vertical extending extruded sections joined together by means of connecting portions wherein said extruded metal sections and said connecting portions are provided with guiding elements which lie in a plane substantially perpendicular to the wheel axle of the vehicle body.
A car body of a railway rolling stock wherein the entire car body is divided into a plurality of blocks or modules which are subsequently combined and connected. The individual blocks or modules include a roof construction forming a roof of the car body, side constructions forming respective side walls of the car body, end constructions adapted to be disposed at respective longitudinal ends of the car body to form an end thereof, and an underframe for forming a lower surface of the body. The roof construction, the side constructions and at least one of the side constructions, an underframe are connected through connecting members in which a connected end is extended toward the roof construction, the side constructions or the side constructions and the underframe to be connected, with the entirety being integrally formed by extruded shaped alloy members and arranged to extend in a longitudinal direction of the car body.
A support structure of a motor bus comprises a plurality of modular cells each comprising two rectangular end frames made up of two channel section uprights and upper and lower channel section crosspieces, the channels facing axially away from the other frame and having flanges for welding to corresponding members of a contiguous frame of an adjacent modular cell in the structure. Longitudinal reinforcement is provided by longitudinal members at the upper corners which together form a box-section stringer and by channel section stiffeners joining the lower crosspieces. A corrugated panel overlies the lower crosspieces and is joined to them.
A vehicle such as a railroad car is constructed by connecting together side and roof blocks, each equipped with interior components, in a manner to improve the outer appearance of the connections between the side and roof blocks. Longitudinal beams of the side blocks are in contact with the under surfaces of gutters formed by the outer plate of the roof block. The side and roof blocks, equipped with the interior components, are connected together at the gutter portions by a welding which can be conducted solely outside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, the longitudinal beams and joints secured to the side blocks are connected to lateral beams of the roof block by rivets. Thereafter, a third interior plate is provided between interior plates of the side and roof blocks. Since the connections are formed at the gutter portions, the connecting operations can easily be conducted outside the vehicle and in a manner to assure a good outer appearance.
A carriage body structure for public transportation vehicles, having two sides comprising a latticework of uprights and stringers supporting each a sidewall longeron member whereto a respective roof longeron member is rigidly connected. The roof longeron members form the base members for the roof of the carriage body structure. The roof structure further comprises arcuated crossbeams connected with and extending between the roof longeron members, and wide elongated covering sectional members resting on the crossbeams and extending in the direction of the roof longeron members.
