A solid state color camera such as one-chip type CCD (charge coupled device) color camera having a color filter employed in association with the CCD chip and arranged so that an output signal derived from every other sequential line of scan includes only color component signals of the object being sensed.
A solid state color television camera having a solid state image sensing device and an optical color filter. In this case, the color separating characteristics of the color filter is so selected that when a predetermined horizontal scanning line is scanned, from the solid state image sensing device there are obtained a red color signal and a luminance signal of the standard system sequentially and alternately, and from a horizontal scanning line adjacent the above horizontal scanning line there are obtained a blue color signal and luminance signal. Also, as the high band component, which constitutes the above luminance signal, the high band component of a composite video output signal, which includes the primary color signal and luminance signal produced by scanning the above horizontal scanning line, is utilized. Further, by scanning the respective horizontal scanning lines, different color difference output signals obtained at every one horizontal scanning line are made in simultaneity and based upon the color difference output signals and luminance signal there is produced a color video signal of the standard system.
A signal processing system is disclosed for a color television camera having a line-sequential type color coding filter provided in a light path of an object image. An image pick-up device has the object image focused thereon and connects to circuitry for creating a line sequential type color output signal. First and second delay circuits are provided for delaying the output signal and a mixing circuit is provided for mixing the delayed color output signal and an undelayed color output signal to obtain a mixed signal which forms a portion of a luminance signal of the color television camera. Another portion of the luminance signal is derived from an output from the first delay circuit. Preferably the color output signal represents first and second colors such as red and blue and another line-by-line color signal is created for a third color such as green, the green color signal being delayed in a third delay circuit and forming another portion of the luminance signal.
An image pick-up apparatus includes a plurality of pixels, each of which includes a photoelectrically converting area for converting an optical signal from a subject into an electronic signal. A plurality of first pixels included in the plurality of pixels have a first transmittance as a light transmittance to the photoelectrically converting area, and a plurality of second pixels included in the plurality of pixels have a second transmittance as a light transmittance to the photoelectrically converting area. The second transmittance is higher than the first transmittance, and a light receiving area for receiving light of each of the plurality of first pixels is larger than a light receiving area for receiving light of each pixel of the plurality of second pixels.
An electronic camera apparatus and method for providing increased apparent resolution in a color imaging system are described. The apparatus and method employ a transducing array of photosensitive elements, each element being operably associated with one of a plurality of selected wavelength ranges. An electrical circuit samples the output signal train from the transducing array and generates a plurality of color representing signals. The electrical circuit fills in gaps occurring in each color signal with amplitude values derived from processing at least two of the color signals. The method and apparatus thereby maintain sharp and aligned edge information in each of the color signals.
A solid image pickup element for use in interlaced scanning in which at least two lines of photo-elements are simultaneously read in one interlaced scanning line. The lines are algebraically combined to reproduce the color signals and different groups of lines are read for different interlace fields.
