Abstract
The specification discloses a timer including a housing having a display aperture in the front surface thereof. A light emitting diode display is mounted within the display aperture for displaying multiple digits. A U-shaped bracket pivotally connects to the housing and has a base surface which is adapted to be attached to a telephone set for ease of viewing by the telephone user. Timing circuitry within the housing generates periodic timing signals and drives the display to display time intervals to the telephone user. A switch is positioned on the housing for actuation by the telephone user to start and stop operation of the circuitry.

4245334 - Device for measuring and indicating the time between the reception of first and second airborne signals

A system for measuring and indicating the time required for a movement from a first location to a second location that is spaced from the first location, including a first transmitter located at the first location and adapted to transmit either an RF or an acoustical signal, a second transmitter located at the second location and then adapted to transmit a second acoustical or RF energy signal, a moving vehicle, such as a sports implement, designed to travel between the first and second locations and having a receiver with a sensing antenna, for receiving the first and second acoustical or RF energy signals. The receiver is connected by a start-switch and a stop-switch to an electronic stopwatch which is capable of delivering timed clock signals to a memory circuit. An electronic read-out display, such as a liquid crystal display, is connected to the memory circuit, so that as the vehicle travels past the first transmitter, the start-switch connected to the receiver will turn on the stopwatch to begin a count of the pulse train and, as the vehicle passes the second transmitter, the stop-switch will turn off the stopwatch and the display will provide the elapsed time for the movement between the first and second locations.

4726001 - Quickness measuring device

A device for measuring a person's quickness comprising a stopwatch, a measured length of cord, and a pair of tags. Each of the tags has a clip at one end for securing the tag to the clothing of a person whose quickness is to be measured. One tag is connected to one end of the cord by a Velcro type separable fastener, the other tag is connected by a Velcro type separable fastener to a pull strap which actuates the stopwatch to start and stop the stopwatch upon successive pulls of the pull strap. The other end of the cord is also connected to the pull strap. When the stopwatch is held at a starting position and the person being tested leaves the starting position, the tag connected to the pull strap actuates the stopwatch to turn it on and then separates from the pull strap. When the person has run a predetermined distance equal to the length of the cord, the cord pulls the pull strap to stop the stopwatch and then is separated from the tag attaching the cord to the person's clothing. The time displayed on the stopwatch between starting and stopping is an indication of the person's quickness.

4310908 - Adhesively attachable timepiece - Owned by Microtime Incorporated (Scottsdale, AZ)

A timepiece module having a liquid crystal display read-out is supported on one face of a rectangular face plate, the read-out being visible from an opposite face of the face plate through an aperture therein. A mounting clip for supporting the face plate includes first and second flanges for engaging opposed edges of the face plate. An adhesive element attached to an outer surface of the support clip permits the mounting clip and timepiece module supported thereby to be attached to any smooth object surface.

4262842 - Hot water timer - Owned by Grover; Thomas B. (San Antonio, TX)

A timer for monitoring the use of hot water in the home to conserve energy is shown. The entire timer apparatus is enclosed inside the hot water control knob so that when the control knob is rotated to turn ON the hot water, the timer is activated. After predetermined time intervals, various visual and audio alarms are given, the alarms thus encouraging the conservation of energy by using less hot water. Also, the timer monitors the number of times the hot water has been used during a given period of time, such as a month or year. The timer, in addition to its primary energy saving function, is ideally suited for use as the hot water control knob of a bathroom shower.

4362402 - Clock with a holder - Owned by VDO Adolf Schindling AG (Frankfurt am Main,DE)

A clock with a housing with quadratic or square cross-section in the plane of the dial plate and a holder for the detachable reception of the housing. At least one part of the holder is formed in the shape of a yoke having two spring arms between which the housing can be clampingly inserted, and at least the side surfaces of the housing and at least the free ends of the arms are provided with interengaging profiles for the detent connection of the holder and the housing.
