Abstract
A squeeze bottle containing a powdered product such as conventional talcum powder and the like, has a construction such that when the bottle is upright and the powdered product is compacted in the bottom, a carrier stream of air is introduced to the product when the bottle is squeezed, to break up the compacted product for discharge through a dispensing orifice with which the bottle is provided. When the bottle is inverted, the construction is such that again a carrier stream of air, when the bottle is squeezed, is discharged through a fed stream of the product for dispensing by the squeeze bottle.

4261488 - Powder entraining squeeze container

A device for use in a powder entraining squeeze container employs a first vertical hollow circular conduit having a first diameter, open at top and bottom ends and constituting a dip tube. A hollow spherical chamber having a second and much larger diameter and constituting an air powder mixing chamber is disposed above the dip tube, the top end of the dip tube being connected to the bottom of the chamber. A second vertical hollow conduit having a third diameter smaller than the first diameter is secured at its open bottom end to the top of the chamber and is used to discharge the mixture from its top open end. A third vertical hollow conduit in the chamber wall is open at top and bottom ends and is disposed alongside of a portion of the first conduit. The diameter of the third conduit is substantially equal to the third diameter. The open top of a vertical hollow cup closed at its bottom is spaced below the chamber. The cup has a cylinder extending upward from the bottom of the cup to receive the bottom end of the first conduit, this cylinder having a bore which communicates with the interior of the first conduit. The cup bottom has an opening communicating with the bore.

4356941 - Squeeze-type dispenser for powdered materials - Owned by Republic Tool & Manufacturing Corporation (Carlsbad, CA)

A squeeze-type dispenser for a powdered material, commonly known as a puffer duster, for producing a cloud of appropriate treating powder for the control of insects and other infestations, and for similar purposes, in which a squeeze container has a wall that is deformable to decrease the volume of the container and produce a pressurized air source therein to force a stream of air through a passage to a connected nozzle, the passage comprising a thin walled tube connected with the nozzle and having restricted inlet openings so arranged that in any position of a partially filled container, there will be at least one opening positioned in the powder and another opening positioned in an air space within the container, whereby movement of the pressurized air to the nozzle will carry powder from the container to a tube section which is devoid of openings and wherein the powder and air will be mixed in such a manner that the powder will be ejected from the nozzle in the form of a dusting cloud. The container is transversely so shaped as to induce its being manually gripped in an oriented operating position in which the nozzle discharge will be directed away from the user.

4763816 - Measuring and dispensing device

A device is disclosed for measuring and dispensing a fixed quantity of material having a material measuring and dispensing assembly disposed within a flexible container. The assembly includes a measuring cup extending adjacent to the bottom of the container with an opening for entry of the material, an air chamber disposed adjacent to the mouth of the container and formed with a nozzle for discharge of the material, and a tube connecting the cup and chamber. At least one opening is provided in the air chamber having a valve associated therewith which operates automatically to block the opening when the dispenser is inverted and to unblock the opening when the dispenser is upright. The dispenser is inverted and squeezed to dispense the quantity of material in the measuring cup, the opening being blocked by the valve to prevent flow of material therethrough. When the dispenser is upright, the valve unblocks the opening to permit air flow into the container and to permit refilling of the measuring cup. The dispenser is easily used with one hand, and the assembly is removable to permit refilling of the container.

4718778 - Liquid container - Owned by Kabushiki Kaisha Hosokawa Yoko (Tokyo,JP)

A liquid container is made of a flexible film and a delivery device is securely attached to the container in such a way that a conduit portion of the delivery device extends into the interior of the liquid container. An opening is formed in the cylindrical wall of the conduit portion adjacent to the sealed top of the container. When the delivery device is used as a straw, the opening is closed with the wall of the container because of its flexibility. When the content in the container is poured into another liquid receptacle, the opening is used as an inlet so that the content of the container can be completely emptied.

5884621 - Device for administering powdery medicine - Owned by Teijin Limited (Osaka,JP)

A device for administering a powdery medicine satisfying the requirements of portability, easy and quick operation, fabrication through simple steps, rigid structure, and economy using decreased number of parts of low cost. The device for administering a powdery medicine comprises a medicine-holding portion having at least partly flexible wall portion for defining therein a powdery medicine-container space which also serves as an air reservoir, and a medicine guide portion through which the space in said medicine-holding portion is communicated with the outside, wherein the space in said medicine-holding portion is communicated with the outside through said medicine guide portion only, said medicine guide portion is of a tubular structure having, at one end thereof, a medicine spray port at a position on the outside of said medicine-holding portion and having, at the other end thereof, a medicine suction port at a position in the space in said medicine-holding portion, the bottom of the space in said medicine-holding portion is positioned nearly just under the medicine suction port of said medicine guide portion, said medicine suction port is disposed close to said bottom, and the powdery medicine is sprayed to the outside through said medicine guide portion by depressing and relaxing the flexible wall portion of said medicine-holding portion.
