Abstract
An anthropomorphic shoulder mount for supporting a camera or similar device. Three modes of shoulder pad motion are provided to permit good conformance to the operator's shoulder contour regardless of anthropomorphic variations among various operators. An articulated saddle adjustably hinges forward and rearward from a fixed center section to conform to the operator's upper back and chest. The camera support adjustably rotates about a longitudinal axis to accommodate the slope of either of the operator's shoulders. Further, the camera support adjustably translates along the longitudinal axis to permit optimization of the center of gravity on the operator's shoulder.

6457880 - Camera and shoulder support for carrying a load - Owned by Thomson Licensing SA (Boulogne Cedex,FR)

A camera (1) a housing (2) and a shoulder support (3) to support the housing (2) on a shoulder. The shoulder support (3) comprises a flexible carrying member (30) having a first end (31 ) and a second end (32). Near its first end (31) the carrying member (30) is connected to the housing (2) by means of a comparatively stiff first connecting member (41) and near its second end (32) it is connected to the housing (2) by means of a comparatively stiff second connecting member (42). The first connecting member (41) is movably coupled to the second connecting member (42) via a hinge (51) and the housing (2). By placing the camera (1) onto a shoulder, the shoulder bearing against the carrying member (30) at a position between the ends (31) and (32) of the carrying member, a pulling force is produced in the carrying member (30), which force acts upon the connecting members (41) and (42) and urges the ends (31) and (32) of the carrying member (30) towards one another. Since the connecting members (41) and (42) are movably coupled, the ends (31) and (32) can move towards one another and the shoulder support (3) exerts a clamping action on the shoulder. As a result of this, the weight of the camera (1) is distributed over a larger shoulder area, so that less pressure is exerted on the shoulder.

4526308 - Camera support

A camera support which may be hooked over the shoulders of the wearer is self-standing if placed on a planar member. The camera support includes a first U-shaped tubular member having a base and a pair of opposed spaced apart legs and tubular extension members extending outwardly from the ends of each of the legs of the U-shaped member. The tubular extension members are both longitudinally and rotatably connected to the U-shaped base and each of the tubular extension members includes a plurality of tubes connected for relative pivotal rotation. The camera is mounted to the support by a dual clamp mounting system permitting 360.degree. rotation about a plurality of axes with the axes at right angles to each other.

6641010 - Shoulder platform for camera

A shoulder platform that is well-balanced and stable on an operator's shoulder when the camera is mounted on the platform, allowing hands-free balance of the mounted camera. The shoulder platform has an elongated bent frame, a shoulder mount affixed below the frame, a compartment front mounted on the frame above the shoulder mount, two sides mounted above and along the sides of the frame, shelves, storage compartments for camera components and accessories, a latch mechanism, an elongated compartment attached to the lowest shelf that can be latched to the latch mechanism, and means so that the supported camera mounted on the camera mount piece may be placed in different positions for photographing subject matter while keeping the shoulder platform stationary on the operator's shoulder.
