A container for containing photographs and associated strips of negatives formed from a plastics material housing having one rectangular compartment for containing photographs and a second compartment for accommodating strips of negatives. The container is a flat container having a pivotally mounted lid which constitutes substantially all of one flat side of the container, and the lid may be opened to provide access to at least one compartment. The lid is formed at least partially from a transparent material so that a photograph located behind the transparent part of the lid may be seen. The two compartments are separated by a flange which projects into the interior of the container when the container is closed and the flange forms a stop abutment for photographs located in the appropriate commpartment. In preferred embodiments of the invention a further compartment is confined in the lid and is closed by a transparent plate-shaped insert, the further compartment being adapted to contain a single photograph which is visible through the plate shaped insert. The interior container may readily be placed in a pocket.
A film-packet for accommodating a predetermined number of film-units each to be used as an image carrying member for a camera based on the diffusion transfer process, which film-packet is provided with a recessed portion integrally formed on its rear side for seizing the end of a sheet-like article. When all the film-units are used up, the box-like case of the film-packet may be utilized as a picture-holder of a picture-stand assembled, with a covering member of the film-units being seized by the recessed portion at its one end for functioning as a supporting leg of the picture stand.
A container for storing photographic prints and negatives. Said container can be molded from sturdy semi-rigid material and includes a base and a lid. The base is constructed so that the interior of the base defines two open storage areas. One storage area is specifically adaptable to storing photographic negatives and subtends the other storage area which is specifically adaptable to storing photographic prints. Both negatives and prints can be stored in the same compartment of the same container yet they can be stored without allowing either the prints or the negatives an excess of space in which to move. These containers are also configured to be stored in a storage box which can hold several containers for easy access and attractive storage.
A container is disclosed for a cassette capable of advancing a filmstrip with visible recorded images through a film passageway out of the cassette responsive to unwinding rotation of a spool which supports the filmstrip inside the cassette and for an index print sheet with printed pictures that match the visible images on the filmstrip. The container comprises a transparent sheet-like cover having a length and width larger than corresponding dimensions of the index print sheet to overlay the index print sheet and a sheet-like back having a length and width similar to the length and width of the cover to store the index print snugly between the cover and the back with the printed pictures on the index print sheet visible through the cover. The cover and/or the back includes an integrally formed nest for storing the cassette and having an access opening arranged to be aligned with the spool and a film egress opening arranged to be aligned with the film passageway when the cassette is located in the nest. Thus, the filmstrip can be advanced first out of the cassette and then out of the nest to examine the recorded images in relation to the printed pictures without removing the cassette from the nest or removing the index print sheet from between the cover and the back.
An index sheet formed of one recording sheet on which are printed, as small-size positive images in parallel rows, a plurality of scenes recorded on an image recording medium such as, for example, a photographic film, a still video floppy, a video cassette, or a video disc. The small positive images are arranged in the same order they were taken, and frame numbers are printed in juxtaposition with the respective positive images. To produce such an index sheet, a plurality of strips of negative are copied onto photographic paper in a reduced size with the negative strips inserted in a negative sheath. For a magnetic or optical image recording medium for a very large number of images, a lesser plurality of scenes read out are edited in such a manner as to arrange in a representative sample and thereafter are printed on a recording sheet. This index sheet can be part of a package comprising a container having a casing formed with at least one recess for the image recording medium and/or printed photographs, and a cover swingably mounted on the casing. A transparent pocket formed on the outer or inner side of the cover contains the index sheet.
A picture container having the general shape and configuration of a book for easy storage on the end edge thereof on a shelf thereby making it easy to store, locate and retrieve pictures or photographs and their negatives. The picture container includes a generally rectangular, parallelepiped housing including a base and cover hingedly connected thereto by a narrow width sidewall with the base and cover including interengaging flanges when the cover is parallel to the base to form a container having the general shape and configuration of a book. The narrow sidewall forms a spine hingedly connected to the base and cover which allows the cover to open to a position completely spaced away from the base to make it easier to place the photographs and negatives in the container. The base of the container is provided with guides which are optionally positioned to receive and contain photographs of different standard sizes and the cover includes a structure for supporting the negatives in a secure and convenient position.
