A first shaft is rotatably supported centrally of a clock face having horological divisions placed in sequential arcuate relation thereon. A second shaft concentric with said first shaft is rotatably supported independently of said first shaft and has attached thereto a minute hand. A first disc is in rotatably driven relation to the first shaft and is positioned nextly adjacent the back side of the clock face. The first disc carries a first set of digital numerals corresponding to the hourly horological division. The clock face has a window formed thereon and the digital numerals are registrable with the window and viewable therethrough. A second disc having a diameter an increment larger than the diameter of the first disc is rotatably driven by the second shaft and carries a second set of digital numbers corresponding to the horological minute division. The second set of numbers is registrable with the clock face window and viewable therethrough.
A teaching clock comprising an analog clock face having numeric indicia of hour and minute disposed about its periphery, an hour hand and a minute hand pivotally mounted and substantially centrally disposed proximate to the analog clock face, a digital time display disposed adjacent to the analog clock face, and a gear assembly responsive to movement of the minute hand for conforming a time displayed by the digital time display to a time indicated by the hour hand and the minute hand.
A teaching device adapted to teach the reading of an analogue clock face comprising first and second components one of which is transparent, one of said components being marked to represent a clock face displaying minutes and on which a minute clock had can be manually rotated and the other of said components being marked to represent a clock face displaying hours and on which an hour clock hand can be manually rotated, and means for removably connecting said first and second components together with said minute and hour clock face superimposed one above the other to display a complete analogue clock face showing hours and minutes and having hour and minute hands.
This invention deals with a teaching means for reading time by providing simulated analogue and digital clocks wherein said clocks function independently from each other.
A teaching clock for teaching the concept of elapsed time includes a clock face having a minute hand and an hour hand pivotally mounted to the clock face and an elapsed time indicator having an hour hand and a minute hand that move synchronously with the movement of the clock hands. The hour hand is connected to the minute hand such that pivotal movement of the minute hand about the clock face causes the hour hand to pivot synchronously therewith to designate a progression of hours of the day. The minute hand and hour hand are selectively positionable to display a time of day. The elapsed time display may include a releasable connection connected to the minute hand such that the elapsed time display resets to an initial or zero position upon release of the releasable connection whereby an elapsed time is shown by the elapsed time display between any two selected times of day shown by the minute hand and hour hand on the clock face.
