Abstract
A dispenser is disclosed for storing and rapidly dispensing measured quantites of powdered or granulated material. The dispenser has a nonmoving measuring chamber having top and bottom sides which are alternately opened and closed upon activation of the dispenser to fill the measuring chamber from a storage chamber and then discharge the measured quantity of material in the measuring chamber into a receiving receptacle.

6959843 - Powdery mold coating agent supply device - Owned by Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha (Kariya,JP)

A powdery mold coating agent supply device includes a tank having at its lower portion a discharge port, the tank storing therein an amount of powdery mold coating agent, a supply, tube connected at its upper end portion to the discharge port and extending downwardly along a vertical line, a first open/close device provided in an upper side of the supply tube for the opening/closing thereof, and a second open/close device provided in a lower side of the supply tube for opening/closing the supply tube and placed away from the first open/close device by a predetermined distance.

5855300 - Device for dispensing a predetermined amount of solids

A dispensing device for dispensing a predetermined amount of solid materials in powder or granular form allows a predetermined quantity, say for example a spoonful of sugar, to be dispensed into a coffee cup. The dispensing device allows measured quantities to be dispensed which avoids having to use a teaspoon or other measuring device. The device has a container, a body member below the container having a longitudinal passage therein, a top opening from the container to the longitudinal passage, a sliding member with a substantially rectangular cross-section, the sliding member having a sliding fit within the longitudinal passage, movable from a first position to a second position. A dispenser aperture extends through the sliding member and is positioned under the top opening from the container when the sliding member is in the first position, and a bottom opening in the body member from a bottom surface of the longitudinal passage to permit solids to dispense from the body member when the sliding member is in the second position, the bottom opening not overlapping the top opening.

6161733 - Shutter valve dispenser

This computer controlled positive displacement shutter valve dispenser comprises a piston housing, pistons, shutter valves, linear or rotational drive servomechanisms, and a computer controller. The piston housing configuration can be cylindrical or non-cylindrical. Either configuration can have multiple input or output ports selected by the travel of the shutter valve. In addition the non-cylindrical configuration can have a multitude of shapes, allowing for single piston or multiple piston designs. The multiple piston arrangement can have equal or nonequal displacements from the pump cavity of each piston. The computer controls all aspects of the dispenser, including the forward and retract distance, speed and timing of the piston and shutter valves. The amount dispensed can vary between the maximum volume of the pump cavity to a small fraction of its volume as set by the resolution of the controller and linear drive mechanism.

4343082 - Method of making contact electrodes to silicon gate, and source and drain regions, of a semiconductor device - Owned by Bell Telephone Laboratories, Incorporated (Murray Hill, NJ)

In the fabrication of a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) or of a metal gate field effect transistor (MESFET), characterized by a polycrystalline silicon gate (13) and a short channel of about a micron or less, a sequence of steps is used involving the simultaneous formation of source, drain, and gate electrode contacts by a bombardment with a transition metal, such as platinum, which forms metal-silicide layers (19, 21, 18) on the source and drain regions (10.1, 10.2) as well as the silicon gate electrode (13).

6929158 - Dispenser for delivering an adjustable volume of flowable dry material - Owned by Traex Company (Toledo, OH)

A dispenser for granular material having a container for storing the material. The container is connected to a dispensing assembly having a chamber in removable communication with the container. The volume of the chamber is controlled by an insert that is installed in one of several positions and orientations within the chamber to determine the amount of material to be dispensed from the container.
