There is described a method of treatment of certain psychiatric conditions which method comprises administration of a compound of the formula I, ##STR1## or a therapeutically acceptacle salt, ester or amide thereof, (as active ingredient), to a patient having such a condition.

The invention relates to a process for the solubilization in a non-ionic surface-action agent of from between about 0.001 mg and about 1 mg of forskolin, to the pharmaceutical compositions based on such solubilized forskolin and to the use of these in the treatment of various diseases and disorders and maladies in mammals, including humans. Forskolin is 7-beta-acetoxy-8,13-epoxy-1-alpha,6-beta,9-alpha-trihydroxylabd-14-en-11-o ne.
