A water-drainable gasket for use between a panel and a frame includes a continuous channel-shaped body having a pair of spaced sidewalls and a bottom wall. A plurality of pairs of transversely spaced water draining holes extend through the bottom, each pair of the holes being transversely aligned with each other. The pairs of the holes are spaced at an interval along the length of the continuous gasket. The holes in each pair are located adjacent to or extend partly through the sidewalls. Further, the holes extend perpendicularly to the bottom or at an angle to each other and to the sidewalls.
A weather stripping for sealing a vehicle body flange. The weather strip includes a sealing member integrally formed with a channel or strip body having an opening for receiving a body flange therein. The weather strip includes at least one sealing lip formed on an inner surface of the strip body that extends in the longitudinal direction and a connecting portion in which the interior sealing lip is cut away to define an interior passageway that will communicate with the outside of the channel. This assures draining of water and the like which may have entered inside the strip body.
Sealing system is disclosed for the roof frame of a motor vehicle having at least one moveable, frameless window. The sealing system has at least one sealing profile section with a profile strip which is reinforced by a reinforcement and is formed of at least one elastomer. The profile strip cooperates with the window in a sealing manner. The reinforcement is provided with the profile strip as a pre-fabricated synthetic material injection molded part in a forming tool at least on one part of its surface. The reinforcement has a substantially U-shaped cross section with a base and limbs extending from the base. The sealing system is formed in a three-dimensional manner and can be fixed to connection parts of the roof frame with attachment elements. The reinforcement and the profile strip are partitioned longitudinally in the region of the base.
A license plate cover has a transparent or translucent frame, an annular insert and an elastomeric gasket. The frame includes a periphery and an inner side for disposal adjacent to a license plate. The inner side includes an elongate annular channel near the periphery of the frame. The annular insert is disposed adjacent the flat bottom of the channel. An elastomeric gasket is disposed on top of the insert in the channel.
A guiding slideway for a moving sheet, in particular for a motor vehicle window, the slideway being intended to be mounted in a generally channel-section frame whose flanges terminate in sharp edges, the slideway including two sealing lips connected to two side flanges which are interconnected by a transverse web, wherein said web (20) and its portions connecting it to said side flanges (15) are shaped to constitute a resiliently deformable toggle action linkage which is disposed in such a manner that the slideway can easily be inserted without force into said frame while said slideway is in its rest position, i.e. the position it takes up when no external force is applied thereto, after which said slideway is deformed in such a manner as to lock it into place in the frame merely by pressing against said web in such a manner as to operate said toggle action linkage.
Shaped articles made of brittle material having a low coefficient of thermal expansion, for example designed as glass or glass-ceramic plates, are typically encapsulated with a holding frame made of plastic, which is produced by directly encapsulating the edges of the shaped article with plastic by injection moulding. In order to avoid stress concentrations in the shaped article, which inevitably form as a consequence of the differences in thermal expansion and the material-dependent shrinkage behaviour, according to the invention shrinkage-absorbing elements are embedded between the holding frame and the shaped article, which elements additionally ensure a permanently elastic bearing of the shaped articles when used in practice and provide sufficient sealing during use.
