A bag-type filter having a removable filter element, said element being mounted in a cassette frame which may be inserted and removed from the filter housing. The filter element has a plurality of tubular sleeves which are open at the top and closed at the bottom to provide elongated gas passsageways surrounded by filter material. The cassette frame includes stiffening members positioned within said sleeves and a rectangular frame surrounding the top of the filter element. The filter element is suspended from said rectangular frame and is releasably clamped to the frame. The cassette frame has a lower structure which may support the cassette outside the housing and provide reinforcement for the cassette. The filter element is clamped to the frame portion of the cassette by collar means extending from the open top of the filter element over the frame portion, and locking rods operable to interlock the collars with the frame portion of the cassette.
Industrial filter for separating solid particles from a streaming gaseous medium the filter having a filter insert formed from a single band of knitted fabric. The filter insert is provided with a smooth permeable layer of amorphous synthetic polymeric material at least on its inlet inside. Longitudinal and transverse packing sleeves of the filter insert are secured to marginal surfaces of a partition wall by means of a pressure sealing frame. Single filter pockets are inserted in the openings of the partition wall and in place between single filter pockets the filter insert sliding rests upon internal surfaces of the partition wall. During operation a certain amount of separated dust is forced into the gaps between the internal surfaces of partition walls and parts of the filter insert surfaces supported by those internal surfaces. Whereby the accumulated dust layer automatically compensates for the stretching of the needled fabric. The filter insert is provided with internal and external spacers that are swingingly suspended or attached to the partition wall and which maintain required form of the filter insert.
An air filter for use in combination with a climate control system having a register with an outwardly extending perimeter flange and an exposed surface, the outwardly extending perimeter flange supporting the register when the register is installed over an aperture formed in a support surface. The air filter includes porous material for filtering air emanating from the system with limited restriction of air flow caused by the porous material covering the register which, when not covered, would allow air to flow from the system unrestricted. The air filter slips over the register with excess material extending beyond the perimeter flange of the register and folded under the perimeter flange for securing the porous material to the register by interposing the porous material between the perimeter flange and the support surface.
A filter module comprises a frame bridged by a plurality of spaced-apart arch members, on which is supported a one-piece filter element comprising a plurality of pockets which each enshroud an arch member, and which connect into a mouth portion circumscribing the frame and held in position by a drawstring. The filter module is easily erected, and a seal between the inlet and outlet sides of filter equipment employing the module is easily provided.
