Abstract
The present invention has as an object the provision of an electromechanical analogic display device for electronic chronometers, comprising at least an electromagnetic motor controlled by an electrical impulse of short duration. The attractive influence of the latter distorts a spring, very rapidly storing the produced energy to release it in the form of kinetic energy and driving a toothed wheel coupled to the analogic display while on the other hand this electromagnetic motor activates a locking system permitting the passage of a single tooth per cycle, and thus assures for said device immunity from mechanical shocks and most particularly from tangential accelerations.

5025428 - Electromagnetic escapement for mechanically driven watch or clock

A mechanically driven clock, watch, or other timing device having a mechanical energy generator supplying a driving force. A rotatable rotor engages with a driving force resulting in rotational force in a radial direction on the rotor. A magnetically permeable stator surrounds the rotor. The rotor has a permanent magnet supplying an attractive force on the stator at least as strong as the rotational force in order to retain or lock the rotor in position. A magnet field is electromagnetically induced in the stator to provide a rotational force in the rotor in the direction of the mechanical generator driving force sufficient to overcome the permanent magnetic force and allow the rotor to rotate, whereby rotation of the rotor will be regulated.

6650091 - High current pulse generator - Owned by Luxon Energy Devices Corporation (Taipei,TW)

The present invention provides a high current pulse generator for DC powered devices. The generator includes batteries as the power source that charges supercapacitors as well as provides power to the loads as required. During charging, the supercapacitors are connected in parallel, but they are switched to series connection by relays at the moment that the loads demand large currents. No other controlling means except for relays in the circuit is employed, so that the electric arrangement is simple, reliable, and cost-effective. As the batteries are designed to deliver currents at low discharge rates, the effective use-time of batteries is prolonged. Furthermore, due to the high power densities of supercapacitors, the readily available alkaline batteries can be utilized in the power unit for electric power tools.
