Abstract
A mattress structure wherein a frame includes an activatable air blower which is to be used to inflate a mattress which is to be stored in a collapsed position within a storage compartment of the frame. Upon activation of the blower, the mattress is to automatically extend from the frame and will normally be located upon a floor forward of the frame in an inflated condition. During extension of the mattress, the mattress storage compartment is automatically closed.

4901386 - Air adjustable water mattress

An air adjustable waterbed mattress which is adapted to support one or more persons on a sleeping surface. An air chamber unit is contained within a liquid-filled bladder and extends from one side of the bladder toward the other. On inflation, the air chamber unit supports a bladder-formed sleeping surface with the amount of support being determined by the amount of inflation. One or more air chamber units may be selectively positioned within the bladder and each unit is preferably formed of multiple chambers.

6643868 - Pneumatic mattress - Owned by Prospective Concepts AG (Zollikon,CH)

A pneumatic couch includes an airtight envelope divided into a lower skin and an upper skin. The airtight envelope includes low-stretch material. The pneumatic couch also includes at least one valve for inflation with compressed air and deflation. Between the lower skin and the upper skin, a plurality of flexible webs are arranged running in vertical planes substantially parallel to each other. The flexible webs comprise low-stretch material and are joined over the entire length of the flexible webs both to the lower skin and to the upper skin. At an upper and a lower end of the couch, the airtight envelope overlaps the flexible webs and the lower skin and the upper skin are joined airtight. The airtight envelope overlaps an outermost web on a first and second long side and the lower skin and the upper skin are joined airtight. On one long side of the couch both the lower skin and the upper skin continue past the airtight joint, and are taken around a rear wall and joined to each other, and form a back part. The back part is substantially of the same length and shape as an adjacent web, and the rear wall is so constructed that the rear wall can be fastened onto a load bearing wall or to a suitable bearing construction. The couch thereby assumes the shape of a cantilever.

5901392 - Constant-pressure waterbed structure - Owned by Hsieh Yang; Lin-Mei (TW)

A constant-pressure waterbed is provided, which can provide a constant air pressure to a sole air-pressure frame that surrounds a water-filled mattress so as to allow the water in the water-filled mattress to be always suitably compressed to provide the desired level of softness. The air-pressure frame is used to apply an air pressure of a preselected limit level to the water-filled mattress. The constant-pressure waterbed utilizes a drainage valve to drain excessive air in the event that the air pressure in the air-pressure frame is above a preselected limit level so as to maintain the air pressure at the preselected limit level. Moreover, the constant-pressure waterbed utilizes an air pump which can pump air into the air-pressure frame when the air pressure in the air-pressure frame is below the preselected limit level. The air pressure in the air-pressure frame can therefore always be maintained at the desired level so as to allow the water-filled mattress to always provide the desired level of softness.

4570676 - Lumbar support air valve assembly - Owned by Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha (Kariya,JP)

A lumbar support air valve assembly is comprised of a housing having a chamber therein adapted to be connected to a source of air under pressure. A plurality of outlet ports are provided through the housing corresponding in number to the number of air bags located in the lumbar support region of an automobile seat back. The passage of pressurized air to the outlet ports is controlled by a check valve associated with each outlet port. A pressure relief valve is provided for limiting the pressure within the chamber and the individual air bags to a pre-determined value. A solenoid actuator is associated with each check valve within the housing so that on operation of the solenoid actuator by means of a switch located at a remote location on or near the dash board a solenoid actuator will cause the respective check valve to open. The energization of each solenoid actuator to open a check valve simultaneously opens an exhaust port for reducing the air pressure within the air bag associated therewith.

4491157 - Valve assembly for air bag control - Owned by Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha (Kariya,JP)

An air bag control valve assembly is adapted to control the inflation of a plurality of air bags installed in a seat back rest of an automobile to fit the contour of the seated individual. The valve assembly comprises an integrally assembled body in which a pressure compartment is formed, an inlet for connecting the pressure compartment to a source of air pressure, a plurality of combined check and release valve units for connecting the pressure compartment to each of the air bags, said combined check and release valve units being attached to the interior of said body, and push-button mechanisms attached to said body to correspond to respective ones of said combined check and release valve units, the combined check and release valve units being opened by said push-button mechanisms so that air enclosed within the air bags is expelled backwardly into the pressure compartment and thence discharged into the atmosphere through gaps defined between the body and the push-button mechanisms.
