Abstract
An improved waterbed safety liner includes a base sheet which underlays the watermattress, and sidewalls extending upwardly from the edges of the base sheet to surround the watermattress and contain any liquid leaking therefrom. In one embodiment, an inflatable air chamber is integrally formed with the upper extent of the sidewalls to overlay a portion of the watermattress and provide buoyant edge support thereon. In another embodiment, a chamber formed integrally with the sidewalls of the safety liner are equal in height to the height of the watermattress, and are inflated either with air or with resilient foam material.

4689843 - Decorative cover for a floatation sleep system

A decorative cover, for use with a floatation sleep system, adapted to contain a fluid-filled bladder, and functional to establish and maintain a substantially rectilinear shape for such fluid-filled bladder. The decorative cover comprises first and second flexible, substantially rectangular, dimensionally stable sheets. The second dimensionally stable sheet has an opening defined therein adapted to have a floatation sleep system bladder inserted therethrough. The marginal edges of the first and second sheets are interconnected by a perimeter wall member member. A first dimensionally stable tie member joins the first sheet to the connecting wall member and is disposed interiorly of the interconnection between the first sheet and the connecting wall member; and a second dimensionally stable tie member joins the second sheet to the connecting wall member and is disposed interiorly of the interconnection between the second sheet and the connecting wall member. Accordingly, the first and second tie members respectively prevent said first and second sheets from moving away from the connecting wall member due to forces exerted by a fluid-filled bladder contained therewithin. The first and second tie members may respectively form first and second chambers with the first and second sheets and the connecting wall member, such chambers being adapted to contain a compressible medium such as foam or pressurized air for example.

4352217 - Water bed base

A water mattress base support having a flat bottom wall of flexible waterproof sheet material and raised sides extending around the periphery of the bottom wall, each of the raised sides being formed by a pocket of flexible waterproof sheet material and resilient bolster or infill means inserted therein, the bottom wall and the peripheral pockets co-operatively defining together a recess the dimensions of which are such that it can accommodate a water mattress.

4371998 - Hybrid flotation mattress having protecting, water proof liner - Owned by Simmons U.S.A. Corporation (Atlanta, GA)

A hybrid flotation mattress of the type having a center water bag surrounded by at least one row of resilient bedding material is provided. A protective water resistant liner is further provided between the water bag and the resilient material as is a bridge liner on the top surface of the mattress, extending inwardly from the resilient material over the interface between the resilient material and the water bag.

5515560 - Waterbed with integral frame and safety liner

A frame for a soft sided waterbed has four rails of foam covered with vinyl or other water impervious sheet. The cover sheet extends completely around each foam rail, and a central portion extends across the frame to the opposite foam rail. A reinforcing sheet can be coextensive with the central portion if needed. The cover sheet is then sealed to itself at each foam rail, so the frame defines a waterproof safety liner integrally therewith. The cover sheet may have holes in each corner, on the bottom of the frame, so the foam rails can be removed and reinserted. This allows the frame to be shipped in "knocked-down" condition and assembled by the user.

4534078 - Body supporting mattress - Owned by Connecticut Artcraft Corp. (Naugatuck, CT) [*] Notice:The portion of the term of this patent subsequent to December 27, 2000 has been disclaimed.

A mattress employs a first plastic unit which is flat and horizontal and is provided with a peripherally disposed horizontal endless hollow tube which is inflatable. The tube, when inflated, defines a raised peripheral border surrounding and enclosing an inner flat horizontal central area of the first unit. A second plastic unit is removably disposed on top of the central area. The second unit has a first upper section having oppositely disposed inner and outer surfaces, the outer surface being disposed above the inner surface and permanently defining a plurality of closely spaced raised regions which are interconnected by channels disposed below the top surfaces of the regions. The inner surface permanently defines a like plurality of deep recesses, each deep recess constituting the inside of a corresponding region, the deep recesses being interconnected by shallow recesses, each shallow recess constituting the inside of a corresponding channel. The second unit has a second lower section which is essentially flat and horizontal and is sealed to the inner surface of the first section in such manner that the deep and shallow recesses communicate with each other.
