Abstract
The invention relates to a device for cooling a laser head by a flow of liquid. A tank of this liquid, is provided at the upper part of the device and has a membrane which is impermeable to the liquid and permeable to gases. Application to solid laser generators with triggered operation and a high repetition rate.

4714107 - Titanium heat exchanger for laser cooling - Owned by International Laser Systems, Inc. (Orlando, FL)

A heat exchanger apparatus has a titanium liquid circuit for the passage of a liquid to be cooled. The liquid circuit has a liquid input and a liquid output and is formed with titanium walls having coacting ribs formed on two walls to spread the liquid passing therethrough. A pair of cooling circuits located adjacent to the liquid circuit has air or another cooling fluid passed therethrough for cooling the liquid passing through the liquid circuit. Each cooling circuit is attached adjacent one titanium wall of the liquid circuit and each has a purality of metallic cooling fins, such as pin fins, fixedly soldered or brazed to the titanium wall. The titanium liquid side has no brazed or soldered joint and this prevents corrosion and contamination, while the heat exchanger efficiency is enhanced by the thin walls of titanium having high heat transfer pin fins soldered or brazed directly to the air side. Complete access to the liquid side of the heat exchanger is provided for cleaning.

4364015 - Compact reservoir system for dye lasers - Owned by Jersey Nuclear-Avco Isotopes, Inc. (Bellevue, WA)

A dye solution reservoir system for a dye laser comprises a dye solution reservoir, main fluid circuit means for circulating dye solution between the reservoir and a dye laser, and a by-pass dye replenishment loop between the reservoir and the laser for (1) diverting a portion of the solution from the main circuit, (2) filtering substantially all solute, including the dye and other particles from that portion of the solution, (3) replenishing the solution by adding fresh dye solute, and (4) returning the replenished solution to the main circuit. In a preferred embodiment, the solution is filtered by a first filter for removing the dye solute and a second filter for removing degradation by-products and particulate matter. Reverse osmosis may be advantageously used as a part of this filtrate system. The advantage of such systems is a substantial reduction in the required reservoir capacity and enhanced dye recoverability.

4977571 - Dye laser solution circulation system - Owned by Candela Laser Corporation (Wayland, MA)

A dye laser fluid dye solution replenishment system in which the portion of the lasing fluid passing through the laser head which has been activated to a lasing condition is separated from the remainder of the unactivated dye solution and is separately restored before being recombined into the fluid flow path. The thus separated and degraded dye solution, representing only the degraded component of the flowing dye solution, is filtered to remove the degradation products and restored to the desired dye solution component concentrations. The thus restored solution is reinserted into the fluid flow path through the laser head.

6947282 - Electronic device, liquid cooling system and tank - Owned by Hitachi, Ltd. (Tokyo,JP)

An electronic device capable of preventing air from entering a pump for circulating a cooling medium is provided in a small-sized electronic computer provided with a liquid cooling system, which has a liquid cooling construction for circulating a cooling liquid with the use of a power source and for cooling a high temperature part of with the cooling liquid. The electronic device of the invention comprises a gas entering preventing mechanism provided in a part of a circulating path, through which the cooling liquid circulates, to prevent air from entering the power source.
