7131918 - Baseball game and playing field - Owned by Fastball; Twice the Action. . . Half the Time Inc. (New York, NY)

An improved baseball game reduces idle time between successive pitches by having two pitchers pitch sequential pitches to two batters. The pitchers are stationed at two spaced pitching mounds on one playing field and the batters are positioned in spaced batters boxes, each with an associated batter's plate.

5826876 - Field or board game and method of play

A new field game and board game on which the field game rules are applied is disclosed. In the field game an offensive team and a defensive team oppose each other. The offensive team is divided into an equal number of carrier players and escort players. The carrier players attempt to remove an object from the center marker located in the center of a round or oval playing area. The defensive players attempt to tag-out the carrier player while the escort player attempts to simultaneously tag-out the defensive players. The offensive team scores by either successfully removing the object from the field or by tagging-out all of the defensive players. If the offensive team does not score, the offense and defense change roles. The game continues to be played round by round until a predetermined number of points is reached. The field game offers the advantages of providing a game that demands stamina, agility and mental quickness without requiring elaborate or expensive equipment for the players or for the field.

5207433 - Football game, apparatus and method of play

The present invention relates to a variation of the traditional American football game concentrating on the passing aspects which demands virtually all of the athletic skills of traditional football, but capable of being played by a minimal number of players, preferably varying from three to five players. The subject game including new apparatus and method of playing employs a number of the refinements of the professional football passing game, based upon its timing and spacing aspects to provide a real athletic challenge, which game may be played on a smaller field, on both inside and outside facilities, the playing field consisting of a level open space at least 40 yards long and 30 yards wide. Spaced-apart markers are used to designate the offensive receiver positions for thrown passes and varied defensive alignments to prevent successful passing into a plurality of stationary nets or baskets.

6939255 - Collapsible batting cage

A collapsible batting cage having a support base (e.g., a front end, a back end and opposite sides) and a support frame to which a protective netting is attached. The support frame includes a plurality of U-shaped frame members that are pivotally connected to the support base so as to be rotatable relative thereto between a collapsed position, when the batting cage is not in use, to a raised position, when the batting cage is in use. A cable that is tied to the plurality of U-shaped frame members receives a pulling force from a winch for causing the U-shaped frame members to rotate from the collapsed position, where the protective netting is folded at an inconspicuous location within the support base, to the raised position, where the netting will hang above the support base. With the U-shaped frame members of the support frame rotated to the raised position and the netting hanging downwardly therefrom, the batting cage will provide a confined enclosure within which sports (e.g., baseball, golf, soccer, football, etc.) can be practiced without subjecting onlookers and property to the risk of injury or damage.
