Abstract
A marker for delineating boundary and playing lines on an athletic field or the like comprises a hollow elongated keystone shaped body member having converging side walls and an open top face with a clearly colored cushioning member in the upper portion thereof and exposed at the top face so that the body member may be embedded in the ground with the cushioning member exposed at ground level.

A portable field boundary for field sports such as soccer, football, flag football, rugby, field hockey, ultimate, lacrosse or others is formed of a flexible cord or twine with pennants or flags or other marking devices being permanently attached to the cord to denote appropriate desired points such as corners, goals, goal lines, mid-field, yardage increments or other desired elements. The boundary is designed to lay restingly on the ground with stakes or other anchoring devices used to affix the boundary to the desired surface defining the corners and perimeter of the playing field. The design is lightweight and durable to allow for multiple subsequent temporary applications, retrievals and storage of the apparatus, the duration of a single use typically being a single practice or competition.

The invention deals with a road marking tape which has retroreflective elements and protruding anti-skid elements, and which means is provided for preventing damaging of the retroreflective elements by snow plowing means. The preventing means is designed in accordance with the present invention in a special manner as a compressible element which is composed of a compressible material so that in response to impact of the protruding elements of the tape by the snow plowing means the compressible material of the compressible element compresses and the original thickness of the compressible material reduces to a predetermined thickness which is selected so that the protruding element sink into the groove by the depth at least equal to the height of the protruding elements.
