An information carrier is disclosed which comprises a base plate which supports a plurality of blocks. The base plate includes at least one guide rail. The blocks include an information bearing face portion and a guide strip. The guide strip is adapted to be slidably and matingly received by the guide rail, thereby mounting the blocks on the base plate. A first groove is located in the base portion adjacent one lateral edge and extending perpendicular to the guide rail. A second groove is located in at least one of the blocks. A locking element is provided which is adapted for insertion through the first and second grooves for preventing lateral movement of the blocks in at least one direction.
An information display device wherein there is a base plate with information bearing face plates detachably mounted thereon by one or more spline elements that press-fit with formations on each of the opposing faces of the base and face plate. End caps are optional as are also separator strips between panels where there are a number of panels mounted on one base plate. Splines press-fit into grooves in each of the base plate and face plate. In one embodiment the spline is U-shaped receiving therein a rib on one member and projecting into a groove formed between two ribs on the other of the two plates.
An identification device that permits the user to maintain on his person a variety of individual bits of information. The device includes a body portion having recesses in which pieces carrying individual bits of information may be inserted at the user's will. Indicia is formed on the pieces and is viewable through suitable means in the body portion. A combined retention device and insertion and removal tool is affixed to the body portion and serves to retain the pieces in the recesses.
The specification discloses a sandwiched reinforced slatboard assembly including a baseboard, a plurality of C-shaped reinforcing channels arranged on the baseboard, and a plurality of T-shaped slats secured to the baseboard to entrap the channels therebetween. Optionally, the C-shaped channels are omitted and the slats are secured to the baseboard using a colored adhesive which is visible between the slats to provide a decorative appearance. Also disclosed is a modified assembly wherein decor strips are removably received within the slots, and wherein the slots are configured to retain the strips against the back wall of the slot.
