A coupling, arranged to form a frictional joint between two mechanical elements, comprising of a tubular contact member, arranged to take up a non-deformative frictional contact with an element to be attached by means of a first peripherical surface when a mainly plane spring ring, extending from the opposed peripherical surface mainly perpedicularly to the length axis of the element to be attached, is twisted or tilted by means of a manually operated force applying member to an inclined relationship to said length axis, said tubular contact member having a longitudinal section causing the applied force from the spring ring to be equally distributed over the contact surface with the element to be attached.
A fluid-receiving assembly having a pair of relatively axially displaceable structures, a torsionally deflectable seal ring for establishing a seal between the structures, and a pair of formations engaging diagonally opposite corner edges of the seal ring to torsionally deflect it to its seal establishing condition, one of the formations being formed on one of the structures and the other of the formations being formed in part by the other structure and in part by an adapter ring.
A pipe connection device for a scientific equipment in which a reduced diameter head having slits is formed at a front end part of a clamp covering a packing fitted to an outer circumference of the open end part of the pipe. A part of the packing is positioned within the reduced diameter head. The reduced diameter head, at its extremity end, forms an inclined cylinder part fitted to an inner inclined surface of the fixed screw and also forms a cylinder part to which a pressing ring is engaged and fitted adjacent to the inclined cylinder part. The reduced diameter head is reduced in its diameter by the inner inclined surface under screwing of the fixed screw. The pressing ring, formed to have a slightly smaller diameter than an outer diameter of the cylinder part, is pressed against an open end surface of the inner inclined surface. The pressing ring is raised up over the inclined cylinder part and press fitted onto the cylinder part.
A quick coupling comprising a body with a conical opening and an outside thread, a nut with a central through orifice and a cylindrical counterbore extending the through orifice and tapped over its portion that is remote from the through orifice, and a conical surface connecting the through orifice to the counterbore, the coupling comprising a ring housed in the counterbore of the nut, the ring having a front face directed towards the thread that is fitted with a sealing gasket whose rear face facing towards the coupling surface co-operates therewith to define a radial expansion housing for a split spring washer.
The present invention provides a pipeline connector which uses collected conical rings as a holding mechanism designed to penetrate a pipe surface as they are simultaneously flattened. Several rings are required to achieve the total required shear load transfer area. The penetrating rings preferably are separated by shorter, non-penetrating rings to increase the loading area, thus limiting the external pressure loading on the pipeline.
A pipe coupling device (2) for joining the ends of two pipes is disclosed. The pipe coupling device (2) includes a sleeve (4) configured to receive an end of a pipe and having an annular first abutment surface (6); a compression member (12) having an annular second abutment surface (10); a sealing and gripping assembly (8) for sealing against and gripping the pipe; and threaded fasteners for drawing the compression member (12) and the sleeve (4) axially together so as to compress the sealing and gripping assembly (8) against the pipe. The sealing and gripping assembly (8) includes a sealing member (14) and a gripping device. The gripping device may include an annular carrier (16) having an annular recess for retaining a gripping member (18). The gripping surface of the gripping member (18) and the annular carrier (16) are adapted for relative axial movement wherein the gripping member (18) may be moved into tighter contact with the pipe.
