4977714 - Roof ventilation baffle

A roof ventilation baffle comprising a pleated or corrugated membrane forming a plurality of air passages. The baffle is installed between the underside of the roof sheathing and the upper surface of fiberglass insulation bats with the pleats parallel to the rafters or roof joists to provide ventilation, along the underside of the roof sheathing. The ventilation baffle is also applicable to outside walls and floors over unheated or uncooled spaces. The baffle may be perforated to provide air flow between the air passages formed by the pleats and to permit any moisture trapped in the insulation to evaporate into and be removed by the air flow through the channels.

4635419 - Vented roof construction

A roof construction provided with a series of vented air circulation passages between the outer roofing layer and an inner sealed insulation layer to provide a positive ventilating system and prevent accumulation of moisture within the insulated inner portion of the roof structure.

5035172 - Roof ventilating apparatus - Owned by Alumax Inc. (San Mateo, CA)

A gable ventilator comprising a vent member which holds and displaces an eaves panel and a bracket which positions and supports the vent member is disclosed. The vent member is provided with a plurality of apertures through which air may pass, is configured to extend the length of the gable wall.

4852314 - Prefabricated insulating and ventilating panel

A prefabricated insulating and ventilating panel used between the exterior covering and framing components of a roof or wall in building construction has a rectangular plywood or oriented strand board deck spaced above a rectangular substrate of rigid closed foam thermal insulating material to provide air passageways to relieve heat buildup that causes wear of asphalt shingles and other roofing or wall covering materials, An alternative form includes a rectangular plywood or oriented strand board underdeck attached in contact with and below the insulating substrate to serve as sheathing for direct attachment to the building frame.

5867956 - Integral roof ventilation baffle and insulation

A ventilated insulation bat having longitudinal channels formed in the top of the bat. The channels are resiliently compressible and flattenable when the bat is rolled, but the channels resume their depth when the bat is unrolled. The channels are manufactured by means for forming such as by molding or melting the channels into the bat or by affixing a flattenable perforated corrugated device to the bat. The transverse distance across the flattenable perforated corrugated device extends less than the width of the bat. The flattenable device when flattened is smaller than the bat to prevent the device from extending beyond the width of the bat when the bat is compressed and rolled into a roll for storage or transportation.
