A hospital stretcher, including a chassis frame mounted on wheels, and a stretcher frame carried upon the wheeled chassis frame, transverse extending rails across a top of the chassis frames so that a ball bearing suspension mounted on an underside of the stretcher frame, allows the stretcher frame to be sidewardly moved a part way upon a bed so as to more easily permit transfer of a patient therebetween.
An apparatus suitable for environments where the presence of metals or traces of metals is inadmissible, consisting of a combination of a stretcher with a movable undercarriage, whereby both stretcher and undercarriage have been made virtually entirely in plastic, consisting of a thermoplastic material, the apparatus being absolutely free of metals.
A sliding transfer device comprising a lower support plate and an upper seat. The upper seat is attached to the lower support plate to slide over the top surface of the plate. A person being transferred from one location to another, such as the edge of a bed to a wheelchair seat, is placed upon the upper seat, and is transferred as the seat slides across the top surface of the lower support plate. The lower support plate may be straight or curved.
A patient transfer device for aiding in the comfortable and easy transfer of incapacitated persons from a bed to a gurney, or vice versa. The transfer device has a stationary board having a number of roller assemblies, and a movable board having a number of channels for accommodating the roller assemblies. When the movable board is mounted on top of the stationary board, the roller assemblies allow the movable board to slide thereover. Each roller assembly has a column of balls secured within a track. Dividers extend horizontally between the side walls, adjacent to the balls, to prevent the balls from sliding within the track. The movable board channels are interlocked with the tracks. This configuration prevents the movable board from lifting upward, off of the stationary board while in use.
A concealment trolley for the transportation of deceased persons which includes a bogie supporting an enclosure. The enclosure preferably has an overall outward appearance resembling a piece of mobile hospital equipment. In the enclosure there is a mechanism whereby a deceased person can be loaded on a litter or platform into the enclosure and fully concealed therewithin. A support mechanism is located within the enclosure and is adapted to support a litter or platform. The support mechanism is movable so as to be able to raise and lower the litter or platform relative to the enclosure.
A patient moving bed assembly for transferring a patient from a primary bed to a secondary support such as a gurney includes a frame, a mattress, a mattress support panel having tracks, rollers engaged to the tracks, and a motor to move the rollers in a desired direction to move the mattress laterally.
