An animal toss trap includes an enclosure having openings for animal entry therethrough. A generally elongated gate displaced from these openings and positioned within the enclosure presents an animal capture compartment therebeyond. In a normal gate position, the horizontally disposed spikes project from one end of the gate towards a wall of the enclosure so as to present a means of entry or path into the animal capture compartment. An animal on initial progression through this path pushes against the spike tips causing the gate to swing in response thereto. During subsequent animal movement the discomfort of the spiked tips upon the side of the animal further urges the animal through the forward path and into the capture compartment. The gate, being spring biased, returns to a normal position after the above animal entry. A lock, released by an animal upon entry into the path is provided to prevent the gate from being opened by a previously captured animal.
This invention relates to an animal trap comprising a system of interconnected modular units including a gate which is treadle-operated by an entering animal to snap to latched-closed position from an open position adjacent the floor of the trap. The trap includes a disabling device to permit pre-baiting. As a special feature for preventing contamination, it includes a hermetically-sealed capture module with a plastic bag liner, which may be disengaged from the system for disposal purposes. A device is also disclosed for automatically resetting the trap on a periodic basis.
A technique is provided for keeping rodents and other pests out of warehouses and other buildings. A pest control device or guard is provided which is attached or fixed near the bottom surface of a garage door. The pest control device can adjust to uneven ground surfaces so that a fence or guard is provided to prevent pests, such as rats from entering buildings. The pest control device may be comprised of first, second, and third brackets which are connected together and can be mounted to a garage door. The brackets may be L-shaped. A plurality of pins is connected to the first, second, and third brackets so that each of the plurality of pins can move with respect to the first, second, and third brackets.
An humane trap for small animals, such as cats, includes a housing having rigid bottom, top, side, front and rear end walls which cooperate to define an animal-receiving chamber, the front end wall being guided for vertical movement between opened and closed positions relative to the other housing walls. A retaining rod is axially displaceable within the chamber between a retaining position in which an end portion of the rod extends through a retaining opening contained in the second wall to maintain the same in the open position, and a released position removed from the retaining opening, whereby the second wall is displaced by gravity downwardly toward the closed position. The retaining rod is released either by a food retention plate that is engaged by the animal in the trap, or by a remotely controlled solenoid arrangement.
