Abstract
An adapter for the mouth of a container, such as a bottle of liquid medication, includes a body member adapted to fit sealingly into the mouth of the container, body member having a central aperture for receiving the nozzle of a syringe-type medication dispenser. In one embodiment of the invention, the body member includes a vent hole and a downwardly depending tube adapted to extend into the container to enable liquids to be drawn from deep containers without inverting them. A valve device retains the liquid in the tube near the body member. The valve is in the form of a flexible web extending transversely across the central aperture, the web having a slit or opening therein for receiving the nozzle of the dispenser to enable it to extend axially therethrough to gain access to the liquid medication disposed within the container.

5573525 - Bottle with closure element for receiving syringe and method therefor

A medicine bottle is formed with a neck that defines an opening and a closed bottom opposite the opening. A closure element is engaged with the neck to block the opening, and the closure element is formed with a fluid passageway. A fitting is positioned in the fluid passageway. The fitting is configured for receiving the hub of a needleless syringe, and a tube which has a proximal end is positioned in the bottle with the proximal end in fluid communication with the fitting. The tube also has a distal end disposed near the bottom of the bottle. Consequently, the syringe can be engaged with the fitting for drawing liquid from the bottle into the syringe without inverting the bottom of the bottle over the neck of the bottle, even when the bottle is nearly empty.

5827262 - Syringe device for mixing two compounds - Owned by Debiotech S.A. (Lausanne,CH)

A syringe device for mixing two compounds is provided. The syringe device includes a vial having an opening and a centrally perforable stopper. The syringe device also includes a guide tube for guiding the injection end of the syringe between a withdrawn or storage position and an inserted position. The guide tube includes a second end for receiving the injection end of the syringe, which also includes a seal between the body of the syringe and the guide tube.

4785859 - Variable volume vessel having a rigid cover and a flexible part receivable into the cover

A vessel for receiving fluid includes a flexible part having a closed end and an opening at its opposite end, and a rigid protective cover, the edges of the opening in the flexible part being attached to the rigid cover in a manner such that the inside of the flexible part and the inside of the cover define a closed interior space, the flexible part being capable of being drawn up against the inside of the protective cover upon evacuation of the interior space whereby the flexible part is received within the protective cover. A connection member is provided on the outside of the protective cover, the connection member having a bore therethrough and a perforatable, resilient, self-sealing membrane extending across the bore, through which membrane a puncturing member may be inserted for removing material from or adding material to the interior space. A protection member is supported by the protective cover within the interior space at the location of the connection member for preventing a puncturing member inserted through the connection member from contacting the flexible part, the protection member having at least one opening therein in communication with the interior space.

5620434 - Medicine vial link for needleless syringes

A link for use between a needleless syringe and a liquid medicine vial may be used equally well with both Luer lock and slip tip syringes. An adapter flange forms both an anchor for a conventional Luer lock and a receiving receptacle for a conventional slip tip syringe. The bottom end of the receiving receptacle is capped with a cylindrical sieve providing multiple fluid flow paths. The vial end of the link is formed with a pocket for collecting fluid when the vial is inverted. Two separate versions are provided, with one having a flip-top cap flush with the top of the medicine vial and the other having a twist-off top extending above the top of the vial. An outer jacket, surrounding the vial top is an optional variation on either version and provides for resealing of multiple dose vials. A valve automatically seals the vial to protect against loss of fluid and contamination of remaining fluid within the vial, in the event that the vial is overturned.
