A separable fastener device adapted for use in securing a removable foot support device to an internal portion of a shoe. The separable fastener device is comprised of two engaging elements. Each engaging element has a flexible planar base sheet of resilient material wherein one side of each sheet has a pressure responsive adhesive whereby one engaging element is attached to the removable foot support device and the other engaging element is attached to an internal portion of the shoe. Each of the engaging elements has a remaining side providing releasably interengageable mating surfaces in which one engaging element has a surface comprising flexible resilient hook members and the other engaging element has a surface comprising a loosely arranged mat of interlocking hair-like threads. These releasably interengageable mating surfaces engage when the foot support device is positioned in the shoe thereby preventing slippage of the foot support device. However, the foot support device may easily be removed from the shoe when desired by applying a force to the foot support device to cause yielding of the hook members thereby disengaging the hook members from the loosely arranged mat.
The present invention relates to an orthotic and a boot and orthotic assembly. The orthotic insert is adapted to be removably positioned in the boot and comprises a foot portion and an ankle portion. The foot and ankle portions referrably have a releasable interconnection. The orthotic and the boot have releasable interconnecting means by which the orthotic insert can be releasably secured to the boot to restrain upward movement of the orthotic ankle portion relative to the ankle portion of the boot.
A waist band adjustment means including a first flexible strip which is attached to the inside of the waist band of a garment and includes VELCRO on the inner face thereof. A second flexible strip is provided and includes VELCRO on one face thereof in order that the second flexible strip may be removably attached to the first strip as needed to accommodate increases and decreases in waist size due to weight gain or loss.
A device for receiving an orthotic insert of a predetermined configuration is disclosed. The device comprises a sheath comprised of a substantially flexible material having a first end and a second end, and two opposed outer surfaces. An opening is provided at one of the opposed outer surfaces near the first end. The two opposed inner surfaces define an inner pocket therebetween which is in communication with the opening. The inner pocket has dimensions and a volume sufficient to accommodate the orthotic insert.
An arch support unit (10) and a method of forming same for use with a shoe (11) having an inner sole (18) for receiving a person's foot, the unit (10) comprising a flexible support (19) to which is added a first pad (31) adhered to the heel area of the sole (18), the first pad (31) having an exposed first portion (34) of Velcro material, and a second pad (31) having on one side a second mating portion (41) of Velcro for releasable locking engagement with the first portion (34), and the second pad (32) having on the other side an adhesive material (42) adapted when exposed to releasably adhere to the shoe inner sole (18).
A personalized insole self made by a patient for relief of foot discomfort and which includes a plurality of corrective components each having a shape formed for a specific correction, an insole which has a surface that contains a plurality of shapes, each disposed for a specific correction and each shape of the plurality of shapes that are contained on the surface of the insole are substantially equivalent to a respective shape of a corrective component of the plurality of corrective components, hooks and loops for affixing the plurality of corrective components to the surface of the insole so as to allow the patient to modify the insole by affixing a corrective component for the specific correction of the plurality of corrective components to a substantially equivalent shape of the plurality of shapes that are contained on the surface of the insole so that a personalized insole can be self made by the patient for the relief of foot discomfort.
