Abstract
A receptacle device comprising a tapered container having an opening and a cover pivotally attached to the opening in such a manner that the cover opens free of the opening so that a series of containers can be nested one within another without interference with the attachment of the covers and secondarily allowing easy placement and removal of sacks, bags or liner inserts.

4688675 - Nesting box with reduced lid flares - Owned by Buckhorn Material Handling Group, Inc. (Milford, OH)

In a plastic molded tote box having one lid or opposed lids that will shingle with other lids in the open position when the box and like boxes are nested, the maximum horizontal dimension for the shingled lids, as measured outwardly from the adjacent box side wall (lid flare), is reduced by tapering the lid rib structure toward the hinge, and/or by tapering the outboard lid skirt toward the hinge, and/or by flaring one or more lid flanges, particularly the inboard flange. The latter two structural features permit increased nesting of the lid side skirts or channels, which in the closed position of the lid overlie the box side walls.

5127524 - Storage bin - Owned by Frem Corporation (Worcester, MA)

A stacking and nesting storage bin which has an open top and supporting elements such as a pair of legs which extend from one side wall of the bin at a downward angle to permit the bin to assume a tilted position so that the top opening faces forwardly and upwardly. A plurality of bins of the present invention can be stacked vertically one on top of the other so that the top opening of each bin faces forwardly and upwardly and is fully exposed and unencumbered by a bin which is located above or below.

5213229 - Motion limiting mechanism for storage containers

A motion limiting mechanism for hingedly connected storage containers having a base tray and a cover. The bottom portion of the base tray is increased such that it creates an interference with the top rear edge of the cover to limit the cover's range of motion. The rear bottom corner of the base tray is preferably rounded such that the top rear edge of the cover meets the bottom rear corner of the base tray at a point above the bottom surface of the base tray.

5799909 - Containment system for receiving and disposing of disposable sanitary products

A containment system for receiving and disposing of disposable sanitary products. The containment system comprises a peripheral frame member which defines a central opening. Releasably attached to the frame member and suspended therefrom is a containment bag which defines a hollow interior communicating with the central opening of the frame member when the containment bag is attached thereto. Pivotally connected to the frame member is a lid member which is movable between a closed position whereat the lid member blocks the central opening, and an open position whereat disposable sanitary products are passable through the central opening of the frame member into the interior of the containment bag. Attached to and extending between the frame member and the lid member is a biasing mechanism for normally maintaining the lid member in the closed position. The height of the frame member is significantly less than the length of the containment bag such that a substantial portion of the containment bag protrudes downwardly from and is not covered by the frame member.

5328048 - Tote box - Owned by Otto Industries, Inc. (Charlotte, NC)

A tote box style container (10) including a base (12) defining the bottom of the container (10), a pair of sidewalls (14) and a pair of end walls (16) extending upwardly from the base (12) to define an interior (18) of the container (10). A pair of lids (20) are hingedly connected to the upper portion of the sidewalls (14) of the container (10) along one edge of each lid (20) and moveable between a closed position barring access to the interior (18) of the container (10) and an open position where access to the interior (18) of the container (10) is not barred. At least one of the sidewalls (14) includes offset portions (22) extending along the vertical expanse of the interior of the sidewall (14) and in spaced parallel relation with respect to each other; At least one of the offset portions (22) terminates at its upper end so as to from a shelf (24) on the interior of the sidewall. The lids (20) include a force distributing rib (40) extending in spaced parallel relation to the hinged edge of the lids (20) along a portion of the length of the lids (20) and downwardly from the underside of the lids (20) when the lids (20) are in the closed position such that the rib (40) is in adjacent abutting relation to the interior of the sidewall (14) above the shelf (24) and such that the distal end (42) of the rib (40) is in contact with the shelf (24) to distribute loads placed on the container (10) through the sidewalls (14) to the base (12) of the container (10).
