This invention relates to a pillow so designed as to allow a person to sleep comfortably in a prone position. The pillow is shaped to relieve pressure on the sleeper's eyes, nose, throat, shoulders and blood vessels and glands of the neck. Several of the most common causes of snoring are eliminated, so a person sleeps more soundly and quietly.
A therapeutic device for absorbing vibrations acting on a region of a human body and including at least one vibration-absorbing pillow formed of a synthetic compound resistant to an elastic compression and having a Shore hardness of 0.5-4.
A pillow-like protector and body support device having a central section stuffed with polyurethane and covered with soft hypoallergenic material is provided with cut-away air gaps and medial seams that form air grooves or channels. The pillows and supports are made for supporting various body parts, e.g., the neck, shoulder, torso, elbows, and tailbone. Many of the pillows/supports are capable of being used together into an integrated system for alleviating bedsores and other medical problems associated with sitting or lying in the same position for long periods of time. One embodiment of the invention relates to a coccyx protector and is adapted to slip over a bedpan. In addition, embodiments are disclosed related to breast supports. One version is a small pillow/protector with an airflow pocket. Another version is sling-like and includes an air circulation seam for the skin just beneath the pillow. Yet another version of the breast support for protecting both breasts. Several airflow seams are provided transversely across the pillow to provide ambient air access to the breasts. A cutout enables ventilation of the torso near the base of the sternum. Straps are included to secure the same to the patient with minimum discomfort.
The present invention is an adjustable sweat-absorbing pillow comprising a pillow cover, a sweat cover and a pillow pad. The sweat cover and pillow pad are wrapped in the pillow cover such that the sweat cover lays between the pillow cover and the pillow pad to absorb heat and sweat. The pillow is easy to assembly and disassemble and is adjustable in height and softness.
An adjustable pillow that supports the head and neck of a user when laying on his/her side or in face downward position is described. This pillow has a central base portion and one or more lateral protrusions, particularly including upper lateral protrusions, all of which are integrally connected to said central base portion. Means are provided for securing one or more lift pads beneath the pillow to vary the height of the pillow surface relative to the plane upon which the pillow and its user are supported.
An adjustable height pillow that offers a user the option of many heights and degrees of firmness, and which encourages proper posture in various meditation and other sitting positions. The pillow is comfortable for the user in either meditation or normal sitting environments including workstations. The pillow includes at least one encircling belt either within a concealing sleeve or exposed as a dramatic design statement. The belt can cinch and constrict the medial portion of the pillow by reducing its circumference, thereby causing the filler material to move from the medial portion to respective upper and lower portions of the pillow thus increasing the height of said pillow.
