A two section structure adapted to be selectively converted into a single hull six passenger boat, a double hull six passenger boat and an enclosable container which may be opened from one end or from either side. The two, generally similar, forward and rear small boat sections are adapted to be hingedly interconnected along mating end walls or, mating side walls, such that, the two sections may be selectively pivoted from a fore and aft alignment to a side by side alignment to form a wide beam double hulled boat or, pivoted into an overlying relationship to form an enclosed container. Each small boat section is provided with eight strategically located hinge joints. One half of a mating hinge joint is located on one section and the other mating joint is located on the other small boat section. The interconnecting hinge joints embody rounded corners at points of contact with a mating joint and, beveled hinge joint apertures to ease insertion of the tapered hinge joint connector pin which, when inserted beyond the first two hinge joints, does in effect, provide self-alignment of the adjacent mating hinge joints. Alignment plugs with mating sockets insure positive contact between the two boat sections and prevent movement of the abutting surfaces.
A portable boat having multiple sections, which are connected together during use and are stacked together when not use is disclosed. Each boat section is formed of an inner an outer shell each formed of molded plastic and attached in a such a manner as to preserve the buoyancy and integrity of the boat. The boat is formed of bow section, a stern section and at least one center section. The bow and stern sections of the boat are each fitted with either a hook or tab at one end for connection to a center boat section. Each center boat section has both a hook and a tab at opposite ends for connection to the bow section, the stern section or another center boat section. The boat sections are constructed such that when connected, the boat is rigid and of uniform width. Each point of attachment is characterized by three separate connecting mechanisms. This provides for a rigid and secure attachment between boat sections. Moreover, in the case of failure of one of the connecting mechanisms, it maintains the connection between the boat sections.
An apparatus is set forth wherein a plurality of spaced pontoons are pivotal relative to one another to define a fishing boat in an open configuration, wherein a brace is selectively positionable within one of a plurality of pairs of spaced recesses aligned with rear and forward portions of the pontoon to receive a trolling motor thereon. A seat is positionable upon a flange member that is fixedly mounted medially of a support member to receive a pedestal base mounting a seat thereon, wherein the pedestal base includes a through-extending opening to receive one of a plurality of rods directed through the member to effect rigidity in the construction of the organization in an open configuration. In a folded configuration, the fishing boat includes latches at exterior terminal ends of the pontoons to latch the pontoons together in a closed configuration.
An inflatable boat with a V-shaped hull comprising at least a central longitudinal strip that is rigid, and that is made up of a plurality of longitudinal segments assembled together end-to-end, and secured together by releasable fixing means which comprise: at each side top end, at least one longitudinally-extending projecting finger on an end of one segment and at least one respective facing longitudinal recess provided in the abutting end of the adjacent segment; and, in the tip portion of the V-shape and inside the hull, at least one connection member on an end of one segment, and at least one corresponding connection member situated inside the adjacent segment, and a retaining pin suitable for being engaged through the mutually aligned perforations in the two connection members.
A surfboard, which can be dismantled into sections, for convenient transportation and can be reassembled for use. The surfboard can also be shortened or elongated to provide adequate buoyancy for the convenience of a surfer.
A boat with an articulating bow and a method for articulating the bow of a boat is provided which permits easier storage and transportation of the boat, without increasing the height of the boat when the bow is in its articulated open configuration, and the bow of the boat may be articulated while the boat is in a body of water.
