A method for treating an inflammatory condition in a mammalian patient by administering an effective amount of a 1-aralkyl-3-amino-2-pyrazoline compound having the formula ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, wherein: m and n are integers ranging from 0 to 6, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5, which can be the same or different, are hydrogen or lower alkyl, X.sub.1, X.sub.2, X.sub.3, X.sub.4, and X.sub.5, which can be the same or different, are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, alkanoyloxy, phenyl, phenoxy, benzyloxy, haloalkyl, mercaptoalkyl, amino, alkylamine, hydroxyl, nitro, and nitrile, each of X.sub.1 -X.sub.5, when they contain carbon, having not more than 6 carbon atoms. The compounds used in the method have unexpectedly low toxicity.
Arthropodicidally active 1-aralkylpyrazoles of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents alkyl, R.sup.2 represents alkyl, R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or alkyl, Ar represents optionally substituted aralkyl and n represents the numbers 0, 1 or 2.
Z is a chemical bond or an alkylene chain containing up to 5 carbons in the principal chain and up to a total of 7 carbons; X is O or S; R and R.sub.1 are independently hydrogen, hydroxy, lower alkoxy, lower alkanoyloxy, halo, cyano, carboloweralkoxy, carboxyloweralkyl, aryloxy or benzyloxy; R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower aralkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl or carboxyloweralkyl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof have pharmaceutical activity, particularly as lipoxygenase inhibitors possessing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.
Novel compositions for the oxidation dyeing of keratin fibers, comprising at least one oxidation base and at least one specific 3-aminopyrazoline as coupler, and dyeing process and dyeing kit using this composition.
