Abstract
A cradle for an infant is disclosed which is collapsible and which provides several different rocking motions. The framework of the cradle is comprised of an outer frame with an inner frame suspended therein. The outer frame has an open position and a collapsed position and comprises two hoops connected at a first pair of pivots to pivot between the open and collapsed positions, the lower portions of the hoops serving as rockers. The inner frame comprises two U-shaped portions connected to each other at a second pair of pivots. The inner frame is connected to the outer frame at a third pair of pivots proximate the apexes of the U-shaped portions at opposite upper portions of the hoops equidistant from the pivots of the first pair, so that the inner frame can swing within the outer frame about the third pair of pivots. A collapsible receptacle is supported by the inner frame and oriented for side-to-side swinging motion about its longitudinal axis. Damping means is provided to damp the relative motion of the inner and outer frames. The cradle is capable of a rocking motion of the outer frame and a substantially independent swinging motion of the inner frame.

6886195 - Foldable cradle for babies

A cradle includes first and second frames in the form of an inverted "U", the legs thereof crisscrossing and being connected to one another by sliding clamps in the crisscrossing point. Above the crisscrossing points, the structure has a third frame supporting a basket. The third frame is hinged to opposite points of the legs of the second frame and linked to the first frame so that altogether there are at least three connecting points between the first, second and third frames. An element adjustably joining both parts of the first and second frames is provided beneath the crisscrossing points, the element fixing the degree of opening between the frames thereby regulating the height of the basket.

5934641 - Collapsible nursery stand

Collapsible nursery stand comprising a pair of scissor action side frames each comprising a pair of limbs (6, 8) from upper regions of which U-shaped link members depend which swingingly support a carry-cot (36) or the like. The link members may be interconnected by a frame (22) for holding the carry-cot (36). On each side of the stand a strut (50) extends between the limbs (6, 8) to hold the stand in an erected configuration so that the carry-cot (36) can swing on the links. Each strut includes a securing means which can be released to permit the stand to collapse. Lower ends of the links move towards each other as this occurs. The securing means may comprise a plate (49) with a track (54), a pair of telescoping members, a hooked bar, an over centre latch mechanism or a strut which is slidingly engageable with one limb member.

7559099 - Method and system for providing conveniently accessible resting area

A method and apparatus for providing a resting area for an infant or a pet is disclosed. The resting area includes a support structure and a holding structure for holding the resting area over, or at least partially above an adult sleeping area. This enables the resting area to be easily accessible to an adult located in the adult sleeping area. The resting area is optionally movable in various manners, such as vertically, horizontally, rotatably, and swingably. The apparatus may include a horizontal arm extending from a support frame. A sleep divider is optionally provided in order to enable one adult to attend to an infant or pet while decreasing the disturbance to another adult on the opposite side of the divider. Various additional optional features may include providing heating means to a portion of the rest area, a convenient supply tray, lighting means, and various holding structure configurations for convenience and comfort.
