A folding stock includes a butt plate that assumes its operational orientation in both the extended and the folded positions of the stock. A pivot arm is pivotably mounted on a mount that is adjustably inserted into recesses in the rear of the receiver of the weapon. The pivot arm pivots about the mount pivot axis at its one end and has a butt member pivotably mounted at its other end. The butt member has a horizontal stock portion and a vertical butt-plate portion at the rear. A spring fastened to the mount acts as a lock for both the pivot arm and the butt member.
A grip and folding stock assembly mounted and arranged on a compact gun for facilitating use of the gun in various firing positions. The grip and folding stock assembly is employed with a weapon that generally has an elongated receiver. An L-shaped bracket has one end secured to the distal end of a pistol grip emanating from the undersurface of the receiver, and the other end secured to the undersurface of the rearward end of the receiver. Mounted in this way, the bracket defines a forearm receiving portion for stabilizing the gun while firing. A folding stock is pivotally mounted to the rearward end of the receiver of the weapon. The stock is operative between two extreme positions. In a first position, the stock is folded and brought into close proximity to the pistol grip. In a second position, the stock is placed into a position suitable for shoulder firing. In one embodiment of the subject invention, the L-shaped bracket is eliminated and the stock is suitably configured to stabilize the gun in the manner previously discussed with regard to the forearm receiving portion of the L-shaped bracket. A trigger guard is provided just ahead of the pistol grip and completely surrounds and protects the trigger of the weapon. A handgrip forms part of the trigger guard. The handgrip performs the simultaneous functions of defining a portion of the trigger guard and providing a grip for holding the gun during firing.
A firearm configuration composed of a multiplicity of elements which can be assembled into a compact interlocked mutually connected closed configuration for storage, and released and reassembled in an operable configuration to provide a complete operable firearm including a forearm/barrel assembly, upper and lower receiver assemblies, a stock, a bolt assembly, a grip assembly, a magazine assembly, a trigger assembly, and a trigger guard assembly each with special operational and storage features.

Apparatus and methods are disclosed for releasably securing a retractable shoulder stock relative to the casing of a firearm. The retractable shoulder stock includes a slide rail which is displaceable relative to the casing. The slide rail defines a recess. The shoulder stock also includes a catch lever which is mounted for rotation about an axis. The catch lever has a peripheral surface that can be manually engaged to rotate the catch lever about the axis. The catch lever is positioned to selectively engage in the recess to releasably lock the slide rail in a first predetermined position.
A rifle has a shoulder support and at least one barrel connected to the shoulder support. A trigger is provided and a chamber is arranged behind the trigger when looking in a direction from a front end of the barrel toward the shoulder support. A movable breechblock has a closed position in which the chamber is closed off. At least one firing pin for firing a cartridge inserted into the chamber when the trigger is triggered is provided. A coupling mechanism connects the shoulder support or a swivel arm to the breechblock. The breechblock is movable by a pivot movement of the shoulder support or the swivel arm transmitted by the coupling mechanism. An axis of rotation of the shoulder support or the swivel arm is arranged within a space delimited by the breechblock and the trigger viewed across a length of the rifle.
