A chain link plate including a pair of enlarged end parts joined by an intermediate constricted part. Each end part has an opening therethrough. The link plate is symmetrical about a first axis which extends longitudinally of the link plate and passes through the centers of the openings. The link plate is also symmetrical about a second axis which extends perpendicular to the first axis and perpendicular to the axes of the openings. Each end part has a convex curved exterior edge surface generated about a first radius which is centered on the first axis. The intermediate constricted part has upper and lower concave curved exterior edge surfaces each defined about a second radius which is generated about a center point located in sidewardly spaced relationship from the link plate. The second radius is equal to the first radius. The concave curved exterior edge surface of the constricted part merges with the convex curved exterior edge surface of the adjacent end part along a common line which is tangential to both curved exterior edge surfaces.
A chain including a plurality of pairs of alternate inside links and outside links, rollers, pins, and a connector having two links, wherein each first end of the outside links and first ends of the links of the connector has a diameter the same as that of a second end of a corresponding inside link, and each second end of the outside links and second ends of the links of the connector has a diameter greater than that of a first end of a corresponding inside link.
A chain includes a plurality of pairs of alternate inside links and first and second outside links, rollers and pins, wherein second ends of the first outside links and first ends of the second outside links each have a diameter greater than that of first ends of the first outside links and second ends of the second outside links, and each of the ends of the respective inside links has a diameter slightly smaller than that of the first end of the first outside link or the second end of the second outside link.
In a link plate for use in a power transmission chain driven to run while a side edge of the link plate is in sliding contact with a shoe surface a chain guide member, the side edge of the link plate has a pair of contact portions near opposite longitudinal ends thereof for sliding contact with the shoe surface, and a recessed central portion extending between the contact portions. The recessed central portion together with the shoe surface forms a space which is capable of collecting and holding lubricating oil when the contact portions are in sliding contact with the shoe surface. As the link plate slides on the shoe surface, the lubricating oil trapped inside the space gradually enters between the contact portions and the shoe surface to thereby form an oil film. With this oil film, friction between the link plate and the shoe surface is reduced, leading to reduction of running resistance of the power transmission chain.
A rotary drive device for a winding shaft of a seat belt retractor has preformed drive bodies arranged one behind the other, which are guided and can be driven in a guide path. Each drive body has engagement parts that can be brought into engagement in an essentially interlocking manner with engagement points located at the periphery of the drive wheel.
A cutting chain is provided which includes facing inner side bars (12) and outside members (14) which have substantially the same height. Further, the leading inner ends of the inner side bars (12) and the trailing inner end of the outside members (14) have a reduced radius to increase wear life while giving the chain a preferred direction of travel.
