An earphone comprising a housing formed on the outer periphery of the front face with a flange for preventing the housing from disengagement from the concha when the housing is received in a recess of the concha, said housing being sized to be received in the recess of the concha and having an electroacaustic transducer built in.
A sound emiting device for providing at least one new sonic or subsonic frequency as a by-product of emitting a waveform of at least two ultrasonic frequencies whose difference in value corresponds to the desired new sonic or subsonic frequency. The device includes a parametric emitting perimeter positioned around a central open section. This open section is structured with a diagonal width greater than a cross-sectional diagonal of the parametric emitting perimeter. An ultrasonic frequency signal source and sonic/subsonic frequency generator are coupled together to a modulating circuit for mixing an ultrasonic frequency signal with an electrical signal corresponding to the at least one new sonic or subsonic frequency. The modulator output is coupled to the emitting perimeter which comprises ultrasonic frequency emitting material for propagating the mixed waveform into air for demodulating the waveform to generate the at least one new sonic or subsonic frequency.
A headphone having a speaker unit having a diaphragm and a supporting member for supporting the speaker unit so as to face forwardly of a user's head with projection of an edge portion thereof into the cavum concha whereby the speaker diaphgram faces to the entrance of a user's auditory canal with the sound radiating direction thereof.

The invention relates to headphones. Such headphones always comprise at least one, preferably two, earpieces which are each equipped with a reproduction transducer. Furthermore, appropriate earpieces also comprise an ear cushion, which either encloses the user's ear when the headphones are put on or lies on the ear. The object of the present invention is to solve the problems of prior art arrangements and find a simple embodiment for the headphones. Headphones having at least one headphones earpiece, which comprises a reproduction system and ear cushions, the latter enclosing the ear or lying on it, a front volume and a rear volume being determined by the reproduction system, the front volume being essentially determined between the reproduction system and the volume enclosed by ear cushions and head and the rear volume being essentially the volume which is determined by the reproduction system and the housing of the headphones earpiece, the front and the rear volumes being connected by an acoustic resistor. The acoustic resistor is situated inside the housing of the headphones earpiece beneath the plane which is determined by the sound outlet aperture of the reproduction transducer.
This invention relates to a compact electro-acoustic transducer (10) to be used in the ear hole which prevents oppressive and inharmonious sensations to the auricle (A) when used and also prevents the deterioration of the reproduced sound quality. To do this, according to this invention, the electro-acoustic transducer (10) is formed of an outer casing (30) which houses therein an electro-acoustic transducer element (20), is shaped in size to be engagable with the concave portion of the auricle (A) and supported at least two points by one part of the auricle (A) when engaged with the concave portion of the auricle (A) and of a cord supporting member (50) extended from the outer casing (30) to be contact with the outer surface of the auricle (A) at a lower position than the respective supportion positions of the outer casing (30).
A headphone includes an electro-acoustic transducer, a housing, and first, second and third members. The electro-acoustic transducer includes a diaphragm and is supplied with a signal through a cord. The housing is shaped in such a way as to be accommodated into a concave portion of an auricle and includes an accommodating portion in which the electro-acoustic transducer is accommodated and a projecting portion for leading the cord from the inside of the housing to the outside of the housing. The accommodating portion has a first opening so that the electro-acoustic transducer is exposed to the outside from the first opening. The projecting portion is formed on the rear surface of the accommodating portion. A first member is provided so as to cover the whole surface of the diaphragm and the first opening and is made of a metal material. The first member has a plurality of first openings. A second member is provided on the first member so as to cover the first member and is made of a synthetic resin material. The second member has a plurality of second openings whose diameters are smaller than those of the first openings. A third member is attached to the housing so as to cover the housing having the second member attached at a portion in which the first opening is formed, and is made of an elastic material. The third member has a second opening which is smaller than the first opening.
