A mobile container, particularly for the storing of tools and workpieces, preferably in automobile repair shops, having a container bottom part which is provided with wheels and on which at least two guide columns are arranged for the mounting of a cover plate which can be secured in its uppermost position by a locking device and which is connected by flexible pull elements, preferably chains or ropes, with at least one tray arranged in such a manner that the latter is lifted off from the bottom part of the container when the cover plate is locked in its uppermost position. In order to facilitate the handling of such a container upon its opening and closing, at least one additional tray can be locked by an additional locking device in an intermediate position on the guide columns. This additional tray can be arranged either between the cover plate and a tray connected by flexible pull elements to the cover plate or else between the bottom part of the container and the lowermost tray which is connected by flexible pull elements to the cover plate.
A service car for storing and making available tools, accessories and the like comprises a travelling base. At least one column extends upwards from said travelling base. At least one platform is vertically movable along the column. A balancing gas spring is provided within the column. This balancing gas spring acts onto the platform opposite to the action of gravity.
An engine component organizer which includes a wheeled cart having a plurality of trays for supporting relatively bulky and heavy engine parts. An extension is attached to the tray having a plurality of receptacles and protrusions for storing relatively small parts of an engine in a way that associates parts with a corresponding location in the engine. Holders are affixed to sides of the cart for supporting elongated relatively heavy parts of an engine.
Apparatus for making available tools and materials contains a frame, which is formed from a lower frame element and uprights fixed thereto. Closed storage containers for tools and materials can be individually fitted to the frame. The storage containers can be matched to the specific use. The apparatus contains at least three bearing points, which are preferably formed by rolls or wheels.
A wheeled container includes a base receptacle of box-like, rectangular configuration, having recessed wheels at one end and a handle that telescopes to a non-use position to impart to the receptacle a generally rectangular outer configuration adapting it to fit into small, correspondingly shaped storage compartments of fire-fighting or rescue vehicles. The container is modular in the sense of permitting, if desired, the addition of one or more second receptacles, in a stacked arrangement upon the base receptacle. A cover is removably seated on either the base receptacle or, if additional receptacles are used, upon the uppermost additional receptacle.
