A golfer's practice swing device comprising a releasable wall mountable attachment means, a rigid elongated rod secured thereto to swivel freely, and a clamp to releasably receive the shaft of a golf club of a user. The clamp is secured to the free end of the rod for pivotal movement of the clamp and golf club shaft with respect to the rod about an axis parallel and near to that of the golf club shaft. The length of the rod is such that for a predetermined positioning of the attachment means on the wall, the shaft of the golf club will be held in a proper swing plane when the device is in use. The device is portable, simple to construct and may be used on any wall surface. It controls the plane, path and direction of a golfer's swing and ensures a proper swing path of the head of the golf club.
Golf swing training apparatus includes a track mounted on the wall in a vertical orientation with a bracket movable vertically upwardly and downwardly on the track to adjust the height of the apparatus. A rod of a fixed length is secured to the bracket for rotational swiveling and pivoting movement. The end of the rod remote from the bracket is secured to a practice club through a coupling element. The coupling element allows rotational movement of the practice club with respect to the rod, but allows only limited angular motion in a plane which includes the rod and the practice club. The rod includes a bent tip which is substantially perpendicular to the overall length of the rod and the bent tip is maintained in a plane with the coupling element and the practice club throughout the practice swing.
The disclosure herein describes a device to assist in the teaching of a golfer's swing and includes a rigid rod having one end mounted to a vertical surface attachment and an opposite end on which slides, through an appropriate connecting member, the shaft of a golf club or simulated club. The connection between rod and shaft allows a pivotal movement therebetween while that part of the connecting member in which is mounted the rod, allows it to freely slide longitudinally thus allowing an instructor or the golfer himself or herself to have an indication, as a result of the location of the connecting member on the rod, whether the golf swing is proper or improper for a given golfer.
A golf swing aid comprising an elongate member including first and second end extremities; a first attachment at the first extremity and a second attachment at the second extremity; the first attachment adapted to be fixed to a rigid object above ground height and to constrain the elongate member to revolve in a path defining a cone, wherein the angle of elevation of the cone axis and the cone angle are independently adjustably fixed; and the second attachment is adapted to be secured to the shaft of a golf club and to be selectively clamped tightly thereto or allowed to slide with minimal resistance longitudinally along the shaft, the second attachment further adapted to allow universal type pivotal movement between the elongate member and the shaft.
A practice device comprising a simulated golf club that is swung by a practicing golfer under the control of a sling that is anchored to a vertical wall. A proper swing is achieved when the sling is maintained in a taut condition throughout the course of the swing.
A golf swing practice device (10) having an elongate flat guide member (11) defining a lineal guide edge (26) adapted to be placed on the ground adjacent to a golf ball (25) to be struck with the lineal guide edge (26) extending parallel to the desired and intended line-of-flight (28, 39) of the golf ball (25); an upstanding L-shaped guide element (14) having a vertical leg (15) and a horizontal leg (16) defining a swing plane stabilizer; a fastening device (13, 20) extending through an elongate vertical slot (19) formed in the guide member (11) and through the horizontal leg (16) formed on the swing plane stabilizer (14) so as to separably, but fixedly, secure the guide element (14) to the guide member (11) in any desired adjustable position along the length of the slot (19); and, a phantom tee (21) separably coupled to the guide member (11) adapted to be position forward of the golf ball (25 ) along the intended line-of-flight (28, 39) thereof for defining the intended bottom of the golfer's (29) swing when using long, intermediate and/or short irons, so as to induce the golfer (29) to commence his/her backswing with the club head (34, 38) passing closely adjacent to and somewhat beneath the level of the swing plane stabilizer (14) and to cause the golfer's downswing to follow a desired inside-out trajectory (35) and to impact the ball (25): (i) either at or just after reaching the bottom of the golfer's swing when using woods; and, (ii) during the golfer's downswing when utilizing long, intermediate and short irons.
