7137148 - PVC based medical gloves and formulations therefor - Owned by Microflex Corporation (Reno, NV)

A new formulation for making a polyvinyl chloride (PVC, usually referred as vinyl in glove industry) glove has been disclosed in this invention. The resulting glove shows the following superior barrier integrity characteristics by comparing with current vinyl gloves in the market: Much lower in use failure rate Improved puncture strength and tensile strength Better chemical resistance The invention provides formulations to make compounds and methods to make such gloves. The new formulations and procedures could be easily realized economically under common vinyl glove production lines. Depending on the desired applications, both powdered and powder free gloves could be produced in the same formula.

6133367 - Ethylene vinyl acetate blends - Owned by E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (Wilmington, DE)

The present invention relates to blends of copolymers having a certain percentage of vinyl acetate monomer with a terpolymer having a certain percentage of vinyl acetate wherein the composition provides heat and flame resistant properties to wires and cable or other manufactured goods prepared from such compositions. The preferred blends comprise or consist essentially of alkylene-vinyl acetate copolymers blended with alkylene/vinyl acetate/CO terpolymers selected from, for example, ethylene-vinyl acetate and ethylene/vinyl acetate/carbon monoxide. The blends are prepared by combining the ingredients with other excipients selected from aluminum trihydrate, carbon black, stearic acid, tri(2-methoxyethoxy) vinyl silane, polymeric hindered phenol, dilaurylthiopropionate, N,N'-m-phenylenedimalemide, and .alpha.,.alpha.'-bis (t-butylperoxy)diisopropylbenzene. The blends of the invention actually simulate a high vinyl acetate content EVA.

4996709 - Intercom telephone - Owned by Tandy Corporation (Fort Worth, TX)

An intercom system for use in combination with a multi-line telephone system wherein the intercom system utilizes the same wire pair for communications between intercom units that is used for normal telephone communications. The intercom system transmits voice signals on two or more frequency modulated channels over a wire pair of a local telephone network. Each intercom unit includes a microprocessor which controls communication activity and protocol in each unit and communicates with other intercom unit miroprocessors via a separate frequency modulated digital signal channel.
