A word processing system is provided with printing means for printing on a character by character basis a data stream including merged graphic and alphanumeric data. The word processing system is provided with an interactive display for displaying by character generation a data stream representative of alphanumeric characters to be printed together with means for printing the characters on a document on a character by character basis. Operator interactive apparatus is provided whereby the operator can form a graphics data stream which is displayable on said display by character generation. This graphics data stream may then be integrated into the existing alphanumeric data stream, and the data in this integrated data stream may then be applied to the printing means whereby the alphanumeric characters and the graphic characters represented by this data stream are printed character by character to provide a document having the integrated alphanumeric and graphic information.
A single-use Veress-type pneumoneedle that has a flanged handle and a fixed valve subassembly that permit the pneumoneedle to be gripped like a syringe when it is being inserted. The stylet body is either a solid rod or a hollow tube. Insufflating gas is carried into the abdominal cavity through the lumen of the needle when the stylet is a solid rod or through the stylet lumen when the stylet is a hollow tube.
In an interactive text editing system, a condition for specified data is set in response to a command for instructing display of only the specified data, only data and read out of a first storage device commensurate with the condition is stored in a second storage device and the data in the second storage is displayed on a display unit. Upon storing the data in the second storage device, position information indicative of a position taken by the corresponding data within the first storage device is concurrently stored in the second storage device. When updating the data in the second storage device, the corresponding data in the first storage device is concurrently updated on the basis of the position information for the updating data.
An electronic word processor comprises a memory storing print data, a print wheel, and a check circuit for checking whether the type of the print wheel is suitable for printing out the print data. In the second form, the processor may store word data accompanied with hyphenate data in a selected group of words. In the third form, the processor may comprise a message memory for storing message sentences, and a modification circuit for modifying the message data. In the fourth form, the processor may comprise a control circuit featured in that one or more specific letters can be retrieved and replaced by one or more new letters in the unit of chapter.
A changeover control unit of an information processing system transmits data to either one of at least two input buffers such as a printer buffer, key buffer and the like, the data being transmitted via a single signal line or functionally a single signal line connecting the at least two input buffers and the control section of the machine. The data includes a communication control data for controlling the control section and the buffers, or an information processing data from the key buffer. The change-over control unit judges the code of the data, decides whether the data is for a printer buffer, key buffer or the like, and changes over the receiving positions for the data.
A document processing apparatus which can edit to a sheet which is displayed on a display screen. This apparatus includes a format setting device to set format information regarding a character editing, a size information deciding device to decide size information in which an interval corresponding to the format information is used as a unit; a figure input device to input a figure on the same display screen as that upon the character editing; and a display controller for controlling the display such that the figure input by the figure input device is displayed in accordance with the size information decided by the size information deciding device. The size information includes a point train called grids serving as reference marks when inputting a figure. With this apparatus, characters, a figure, a picture, and a form can be input and edited to arbitrary positions on a document while observing the state of the print bound document without newly designating an area. One integrated document consisting of a plurality of pages in which characters, figures, pictures, and forms mixedly exist can be output by a single output instruction.
