5485836 - Nose worn air filter

The invention is a device which attaches to the nose and filters the air a person breathes through the nostrils of the nose. The filter element of the device covers the nostrils and base of the nose. Thus, the remainder of the face is uncovered. The device includes the filter element and an adhesive strip which includes two substantially triangular portions designed to adhere to the sides of the nose and hold the filter in place. The adhesive strip is such that it securely holds the filter over the nostrils when the adhesive strip is properly placed on the sides of the nose. The filter element can be constructed of various materials. For example, cotton, wool, polyester, or carbon. The filter element can include specially designed inserts which are dome shaped or ellipsoidal shaped and which fit in or against the nostrils. The filter element can filter out unwanted gases, solid particles, and/or other matter.

5568808 - Nose filters - Owned by Amtec Products, Incorporated (Flossmoor, IL)

A disposable nose filter to be inserted in a nostril, including a flexible housing, a filter component and a flutter valve. The nose filter is adapted to be easily inserted and removed from the nostril. The flutter valve forms a seal with the lower exterior portion of the nostril, thus, forcing air through the filter and preventing air from passing between the housing and the inner walls of the nostril.

5117820 - Intra-nasal filter

A nasal filter positionable within a nostril having a nasal vestibule merging with a nasal passage of reduced cross-sectional dimension relative to the nasal vestibule. The filter comprises an elongated cylindrical body of resilient synthetic spongy material which yields upon radial compression to assume a compressed cylindrical form of reduced, substantially uniform diameter permitting insertion into the nasal passage. The body has a length sufficient to extend through the nasal vestibule and into at least a portion of the nasal passage. The body further has a cross-sectional dimension when uncompressed such that when the filter has been inserted in the nostril and the spongy material has expanded radially, the body snugly fits within the nasal vestibule and causes an enlargement of the nasal passage.

5636629 - Nasal glove

The present invention relates to a nose filter device that is a unitary item which fits snugly on the nose. The nasal glove has essentially two parts, a filter material having a circumference, and enough surface area to cover both nostrils, and the nose of any primate, the second part is a flexible perimeter disposed on said circumference of said filter material which is attached to said circumference by an attaching means, whereby said circumference conforms to the shape of said flexible perimeter, to cover the nose of the user.
