Abstract
A training panty (10) includes a pair of pants (12) having a front panel (14) and a rear panel (16) integrally joined together at a crotch (18). Releasable contact fastening members (30, 38) are positioned on opposing surfaces of front panel (14) and rear panel (16), respectively along the lateral edges thereof so that front panel (14) and rear panel (16) can be releasably secured together to define a waistband (20) and a pair of identical leg openings (22). In an alternative embodiment, front panel (14) is substantially smaller than rear panel (16) and is constructed to overlay the front midsection only of the body of the child wearer. In that embodiment, rear panel (16) is constructed to partially encircle the child's body and to be releasably secured to front panel (14) at a location proximate the front midsection of the child's body.

5401275 - Apparatus for enforcing the closure of diapering garments - Owned by Diaperaps Limited (Chatsworth, CA)

The present invention is a closure enforcing apparatus for diapering garments. The diapering garment has a main piece with a contoured edge. There is at least one primary fastener fully attached to the main piece near the contoured edge, and at least one complementary fastener fully attached to the main piece also near the contoured edge but at a remote location, such that the primary fastener can be mated onto the complementary fastener to close the diapering garment. In addition, there is at least one secondary fastener being the same type as the primary fastener, and having a free floating end laterally extending out from the contoured edge of the main piece and an opposite end attached to the main piece near the primary fastener. The size of the complementary fastener is substantially smaller than that of the primary fastener, and the thickness of the secondary fastener is substantially thinner than that of the contoured edge of the main piece. As the primary fastener is mated onto the complementary fastener, the secondary fastener can also be mated onto the complementary fastener to enforce the closure of the diapering garment.

5624420 - Disposable training pants having a non-perforated tear line through elastic - Owned by The Procter & Gamble Company (Cincinnati, OH)

Non-perforated tear lines for removal and evacuation of contents of disposable undergarments such as training pants. Non-perforated tear lines include a series of bond sites which are shaped, sized, spaced and arranged to provide a zone of weakness to permit severance of nonelasticized portions as well as elastic disposed in the waistband, the body of the pant, and the elastic leg bands for complete removal. Bond sites are formed by displacing a portion of material such that a thickened outer edge defines a weakened area of reduced thickness. Thus, elastic in the waistband may be disposed continuously 360 degrees around the wearer's waist, and elastic in the leg bands may be disposed continuously 360 degrees around the wearer's legs. In addition, improved pants having elasticized ear flaps in the body of the pants can be conveniently removed from the wearer. The shape, size, spacing and arrangement of the individual bond sites is determined for each material used in order to permit severance of the particular material while preventing premature removal. Because the tear lines of this invention are capable of separating elastic, location of the tear lines is not limited to side seams, but may be placed on the front of the pants for convenience.

6210388 - Method for manufacturing a pants-type diaper or sanitary panty, and such an article - Owned by SCA Hygiene Products AB (Goteborg,SE)

A method of manufacturing an absorbent article in the form of a pants diaper or a sanitary panty starts from a flat blank which includes an elongated absorbent body (5) enclosed between two casing sheets (2, 9) which at opposing front and rear end parts of the absorbent body have side parts which extend laterally beyond the body on opposite sides thereof. The method includes the step of folding the blank about a transverse axis so that the end edges of the side parts lie edge-to-edge. The front and rear side parts of the blank which oppose one another in the folded state of the blank are joined together by a releasable and refastenable fastener (20). A pants diaper can be manufactured in accordance with this method.

5683376 - Waist elastic system with improved modulus of elasticity for a child's training pant - Owned by Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. (Neenah, WI)

The present invention provides a child's disposable absorbent training pant having an improved waist elastic system. The waist elastic system has a selected average maximum rate of change of modulus of elasticity over the first three cycles within a specified extension range, thereby providing a substantially uniform low tension over a wide size range, a more comfortable fit, and improved ease of use.
