Abstract
On the internal face of the frontal panel forming a color television tube, in order to obtain a cathodoluminescent screen, phosphors are deposited. A layer of aluminum must be deposited on the phosphors. An intermediate smoothening product, later decomposed, permits to obtain a layer of a satisfactory quality. A layer of ammonium tetraborate, forming microcrystals, is deposited on the product, piercing the aluminum layer so as to help the discharge of gases resulting from the decomposition of the intermediary layer.

5264478 - Filming liquid composition for color braun tubes - Owned by Samsung Electron Devices Co., Ltd. (KR)

The present invention discloses a filming liquid composition for color Braun tubes comprising deionized water, an acrylic emulsion, ammonium oxalate, ethyl silicate, and titanium oxide, aluminium oxide or a mixture thereof. The color Braun tube manufactured using the filming liquid composition shows the characteristics of high reflection efficiency of the aluminium vacuum evaporation film and excellent luminescent brightness of the color Braun tube.

5141461 - Method of forming a metal-backed layer and a method of forming an anode - Owned by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Osaka,JP)

This invention proposes methods of effectively forming a metal-backed layer and an anode using a metal film transferring sheet in which micro-holes are formed. that is, the metal film transferring sheet is structured by forming a metal film on a mold-releasable, highly characteristic sheet. Then, the metal film having micro-holes of the metal film transferring sheet is transferred onto a phosphor screen. Or, on the metal film of the above-mentioned metal film transferring sheet, is formed a phosphor screen and the metal film, the phosphor screen, etc. are all transferred onto a face plate form an anode of a cathode-ray tube. Then the methods proposed by this invention are applied for making phosphor products of, for example, a cathode-ray tube or a plasma display. According to these methods, there is no need to use a large-scaled manufacturing facility and high quality, low cost products can be obtainable.

7074100 - Method of forming metal back-attached fluorescent surface and image display unit - Owned by Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba (Tokyo,JP)

A method for forming a metal back-attached phosphor screen comprises the step of dissolving/removing or rendering highly resistant a specified area of a metal film formed on a phosphor screen by using a liquid that dissolves or oxidizes the metal film. After part of a metal film is removed or rendered highly resistant, an insulating or highly resistant inorganic material may be applied to the remaining ends thereof. Alternatively, an insulating or highly-resistant inorganic material may be added to a dissolving or oxidizing liquid to dissolve/remove or render highly resistant a metal film, and at the same time ends of the metal film are coated with the inorganic material. In this metal back-attached phosphor screen, electron emission elements and the phosphor screen are protected against destruction/deterioration by discharging.

5039551 - Method of manufacturing a phosphor screen of a cathode ray tube - Owned by Sony Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A method of manufacturing a phosphor screen of a cathode ray tube having processes of forming a phosphor material on an inner surface of a cathode ray tube, forming a first intermediate film on the phosphor material, forming a second intermediate film having a baking temperature different from that of the first intermediate film on an upper surface of the first intermediate film, forming a metal back layer on an upper surface of the second intermediate layer, and baking a product at a predetermined baking temperature. Also, a method of manufacturing a phosphor screen of a cathode ray tube is disclosed, which has processes of forming a phosphor material on an inner surface of a cathode ray tube, forming an organic acid film on the phosphor material, forming an intermediate film on an upper surface of the organic acid film, forming a metal back layer on an upper surface of the intermediate layer, and baking a product at a predetermined baking temperature.

6468581 - Method for manufacturing a metallized luminescent screen - Owned by Thomson Licensing S.A. (Boulogne Cedex,FR)

A method for manufacturing a metallized luminescent screen, for a cathode-ray tube, includes the steps of: depositing at least one phosphor layer on an inner surface of a faceplate of a panel to form said luminescent screen, depositing on said layer a sub-layer consisting of a lacquer, drying said sub-layer to form a film, coating at least partially the internal surface of the faceplate panel with an aqueous solution of a copolymer of acrylic/styrene, drying the copolymer coating, depositing a metallic layer onto said copolymer coating, removing the organic materials contained in the luminescent screen, the film and the copolymer coating, by baking the tube panel.
