An epoxy resin composition is provided consisting essentially of (a) an epoxy compound having at least two epoxy groups in each of its molecules, (b) an ester of a mercaptoalkylcarboxylic acid having on an average more than two thiol groups in each of its molecules and in which the number of carbon atoms of the alkylene groups between the ester groups and the thiol groups is in excess of one on an average, and (c) a tertiary amine-type curing accelerator. This resin composition is used for new construction or repairs either as such or in the form of a construction material obtained by mixing this composition with aggregates and optionally with additives.
Disclosed is a construction material containing bitumen comprising (A) a polyol component, the polyol component consisting essentially of (a-1) a hydroxy-polyoxyalkylene ether of bisphenol A and/or bisphenol F, and (a-2) an aliphatic polyol, (B) a polyisocyanate component, (C) a bitumen, and/or (D) an aggregate. The construction material has improved water-proof and mechanical properties.
Thiol ester compositions, methods of making the thiol ester compositions, and methods of using the thiol ester compositions are provided. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters and cross-linked thiol esters. The thiol ester composition can be used to produce cross-linked thiol esters, sulfonic acid-containing esters, sulfonate containing esters and thioacrylate containing esters. The thiol ester compositions can be used to produce polythiourethanes. The polythiourethanes can be used in fertilizers and fertilizer coatings.
Poly(.beta.-thioether ester) compositions, methods of making the poly(.beta.-thioether ester) compositions, and methods of using the poly(.beta.-thioether ester) compositions are provided. The poly(.beta.-thioether ester) can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated ester to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the poly(.beta.-thioether ester). In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters, and cross-linked thiol esters.
