Abstract
A ski steering apparatus (10) including a handlebar (11), a column (13) and telescoping member (15), fork (18) and pivotable and rotatable connector (20, 40) to each of a pair of skis (100) is described. The apparatus allows the skier to steer the skis by rotating the handle about the longitudinal axis of the support means. The connector preferably also allows the apparatus (10) to be positioned in front of the tips of the skis so that a trainer in front of the skier can guide the skier down a hill.

5397154 - Stabilizer device for skiers

A new and improved stabilizer device for skiers having two skis, each of the two skis has an upper surface and a lower surface. Two front supports are secured to a corresponding upper surface of the two skis. Two back supports have a triangular support bracket theresecured. Each triangular support bracket is secured to a corresponding upper surface of the two skis. A U-shaped cross member has two convoluted end portions positioned to be secured to the two front supports and to the two back supports. Two brake handles, each of the two brake handles are secured to the U-shaped cross member. Two brake cables are secured to the corresponding brake handle and to the corresponding triangular support bracket of the back support. Two drag brakes are secured to the corresponding triangular support brackets and secured to the brake cables. Two spring mechanisms are secured to the triangular supports brackets and to the drag brakes.

4744584 - Handlebars for tucked-in skiing

This sporting, mechanical, paired, ski-steering device consists of a pair of upright curved, sturdy, handlebars attached straight up to the center of a snow ski (one per ski) in the area where standard ski bindings are mounted. The skier stands in the rear of the skis, one foot on each ski and with each foot maintained in position by a toe hold, and bends over or "tucks-in" grabbing with his/her hands these handlebars to provide control and steering. The handlebars can be directly attached to the center of the ski, but as a more convenient and versatile advantage, can also be locked on the ski by the ordinary ski bindings via a special sole that is sized and shaped at its two ends identical to the sole of the user's ski boots sole.

5120227 - Ski training device

A ski training device includes: a ski having an upstanding elongate member attached thereto; and two handle means associated with the upstanding elongate member, one handle means for an inexperienced skier, and the other handle means for an experienced skier.

4981455 - Water ski starting aid

As an aid for a novice skier, a close fitting fabric glove confines the forward portion of a pair of water-skis. The glove both prevents excessive lateral separation of the skis and maintains a desirable minimum separation--both features greatly assisting a novice, for example, in "getting up" from a deep water start and in his stability when waterborne. The greater planing area of the glove, compared with the ski portions it covers, and its buoyancy (from air entrapment), both help the skier to "get up" more quickly. Flexibility of the fabric of the glove permits substantially normal relative tipping and pitching of the skis for control purposes. The glove is secured to the skis by snap fasteners.

6592150 - Ski rocker training device for instructing able bodied and disabled skiers

A new and improved hand held training device for instructing able bodied and disabled skiers. A gripping bar is attached proximal to the top of a pole member which declines to be attached to a planar member on bottom. The planar member includes a curved up front-end running surface and a normal sliding section for moving the device forward. A rearwardly inclined and extended suspension member attaches and suspends one or more downward extended anti-skid members (fins and adjustable flaps) above and substantially to the rear of the normal sliding section of the planar member. Preferred suspension members include said pole member (which inclines and extends rearward from the planar member), and a rearwardly inclined and extended addition to the planar member. To operate, able bodied skiers use one device having a crossbar on top. Whereas, disabled skiers use two devices having a gripping bar and forearm cuff.
