Abstract
A distributed accumulator integral constructed to form a hydraulic line for interconnecting components. The accumulator includes a non-porous flexible convoluted inner tube resiliently supported in a closed-cell, plastic foam shell, both being supported in a structural tubing member serving as containment piping.

4928719 - Method and apparatus for preventing pulsations in a flowing fluid - Owned by Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. (Kanagawa,JP)

A fluid-pulsation preventing method and apparatus are disclosed. A fluid is pressure-fed by means of a pump along a path, a flexible pipe is provided in the path, and the volume of the flexible pipe is externally elastically controlled. This external control is such that the sectional area of the flexible pipe is controlled in accordance with pulsation by increasing or decreasing the area depending upon variations in the amount of pulsation, to thereby absorb and prevent the pulsation. This control is achieved using coil springs and rigid plates disposed so that motion of the coil springs deforms the flexible pipe through the rigid plates. The force to be applied to each of the coil springs is set to 5 to 120 Kgf or the spring constant is 0.5 to 3.0 Kgf/mm.

6247763 - Pressure fluid reservoir for a vehicle hydraulic brake system - Owned by Robert Bosch GmbH (Stuttgart,DE)

A pressure fluid reservoir for supplying pressure fluid to a wheel slip regulating device that is accommodated in a vehicle has a hose membrane that can be partially emptied by suction. The degree of emptying is limited due to the installation of an inner support body that fluid can flow through. The radial expansion of the hose membrane is limited by an outer support element and by a porous casing encompassing the outer support element, which protects the pressure fluid reservoir from bursting in the event that the hose membrane is subjected to brake pressure. The inner support element, the outer support element, and the casing are flexible hoses and are connected in a pressure-tight fashion to tube line connections in such a way that the pressure fluid reservoir according to the invention is placed in the vehicle in the same way as a brake line.

6314942 - Fuel pressure dampening element - Owned by Siemens Automotive Corporation (Auburn Hiils, MI)

A fuel rail assembly is disclosed. The fuel rail assembly includes a generally hollow fuel rail having a longitudinal rail axis extending therethrough and a fuel damper element having a wall and a longitudinal damper element axis extending therethrough. The fuel damper element is located within the fuel rail. The damper axis is generally parallel with the rail axis. A method of forming the fuel rail assembly is also disclosed.

5718952 - Hollow structural member - Owned by Deutsche Aerospace AH (Munich,DE)

A stiff elongated hollow structural member has a double-walled structure in the shape of a tube made of an interior tube which has an annular cross-section and an exterior tube which has a different cross-section, in a concentric arrangement. The interior and exterior tubes bound a hollow space filled with an incompressible liquid. Responsive to pressure increases in the liquid, the exterior tube in the elastic material range is bendingly deformable in the direction of a ring-circular cross-section or to a ring-circular cross-section. This hollow structural member can be used as an adjustable stiffness torsion member such as a vehicle steering shaft. Another disclosed adjustable stiffness hollow structural member includes a flat plate facing a corrugated plate to form a hollow space for the incompressible liquid. Increases in pressure of the liquid forces the corrugated member to a more flattened configuration.

6076561 - Heat insulated hose - Owned by Tigers Polymer Corporation (Osaka,JP)

A heat insulated hose includes a cylindrical member. This cylindrical member is formed by helically winding a laminated tape having a base layer of a foamed resin, a permeable coat film laminated on an inner surface of the base layer, and an air-tight coat film laminated on an outer surface of the base layer, with adjacent side edges thereof abutted against each other. A resin reinforcing member is helically wound on an outer peripheral surface or inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member in a manner striding over the adjacent side edges of the laminated tape. The respective side edges of the laminated tape is thermally fused with the resin reinforcing member, thereby integrally joining between the adjacent side edges.
