Abstract
A mailer is prepared using laser electronic printing with variable data and digitally stored data. The sheet fed Xerox 8700 and 9700 laser printer, for instance, is limited to a width of 11" which necessitates a prefolding of the mailer blank to a length of 14", passing the prefolded blank through the laser printer with the longitudinal axis of the blank extending laterally of the path of feed, arranging the blank such that the 11" printing area will effectively cover the area of the blank to be printed using the digital data and the variable data. A computer communicates with the laser printer for providing individual variable data and form-type digitally stored data. A folder and gluer is provided for folding the blank into a suitable mailer.

5290225 - Method of making a self mailer with return envelope formed from a single cut sheet - Owned by Uarco Incorporated (Barrington, IL)

A single sheet business form construction printable in an impact or a non-impact printer includes a base sheet of face stock having a front, a back, a top, a bottom, and first and second sides. The base sheet is adapted to receive a first line of weakening in a first desired location extending adjacent and parallel to the first side to define a first tear strip on the base sheet between the first desired location and the first side. The base sheet is adapted to receive a second line of weakening in a second desired location extending adjacent and parallel to the second side to define a second tear strip on the base sheet between the second desired location and the second side. A first transverse line of weakening is intermediate and parallel the top and the bottom and extends between the first and second desired locations. A lateral strip of adhesive is parallel to the first transverse line of weakening between the transverse line of weakening and the bottom. When folded, a mailer with an internal return envelope results.

5603529 - Color brochure with integral return mailer and method of making it

A color brochure with integral return mailer includes a single piece of paper which is folded along three fold lines to define four panels and eight panel sides. One side of the piece of paper is imprinted in color and the other side is imprinted in black and white only. On the color side, the first two adjacent panel sides are printed as a full bleed double panel color display, the panel side immediately below the full bleed display is imprinted with a reply form which may also include color, and the last panel side on the color side is imprinted with the first page color display. On the black and white side, the first panel side is imprinted with a business reply prepaid postage and return address, the second panel side is printed with the back page display and the last two panel sides are left blank. When the blank panel sides are folded to face each other, an envelope pocket is created and the blank panel sides are sealed at their edges in a conventional way. After the envelope pocket is created, the front and back pages are located adjacent to each other. Prior to presentation to a customer, the full bleed display is folded on top of itself which locates the reply form adjacent to the prepaid postage and return address panel side. These panel sides are folded toward each other and the front and back pages are thus appropriately located.

5779612 - Combination check and envelope

A method of writing a bank draft using an electronic printer and placing the bank draft in an envelope is accomplished by providing a single sheet of paper. The sheet of paper is completely opaque and sized to be received within the electronic printer. The paper sheet has a front surface and a back surface and a perimeter which is defined by opposite side and end edges. A line of perforations extend between the opposite side edges and divide the paper sheet into an envelope portion and a bank draft portion. The paper sheet is fed into the electronic printer where recipient indicia is printed on the envelope portion and bank draft indicia is printed on the bank draft portion. The paper sheet is then discharged from the electronic printer and folded so that the envelope portion forms an envelope for the bank draft.

7326164 - Apparatus for making window envelopes - Owned by Miyakoshi Printing Machinery Co., Ltd. (Narashino,JP) AD. Printing Co., Ltd. (Fukuoka,JP)

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus designed to make a window envelope rapidly using a water-soluble clarifying agent without causing an inconvenience in its window area. Upstream of an envelope making stage wherein a continuous paper while traveling along a continuous path of travel is successively folded, pasted and cut to form an envelope, a water-soluble clarifying agent is applied to an area on the continuous paper that is designed to become the transparent window in the envelope and the continuous paper carrying the clarifying agent is wound on a plurality of drying cylinders so that its surface carrying the clarifying agent faces outwards to dry the clarifying agent while holding the surface of paper carrying the clarifying agent out of contact with the drying cylinders.
