Abstract
A pair of angle iron chocks are disposed with one flange of each chock in confronting relation with a like flange on the other chock on a common supporting surface and opposing sides of a horizontally disposed cylinder. A length of flexible strapping is threaded at its respective end portions through a plurality of outstanding loops transversely secured to the surfaces of each chock in a manner to maintain the chocks in close proximity with respect to the adjacent arcuate surface of the cylinder.

5425608 - Coil rack for flatbed trailer - Owned by Reitnouer, Inc. (Reading, PA)

A coil rack for preventing the rolling of circularly-shaped payloads on a flatbed trailer. The coil rack has a base that can be releasably secured to the flatbed trailer. A stop surface extends upwardly and perpendicularly from the base to prevent the payload from rolling. An "L-shaped" flange extends from the bottom of the base and engages a corresponding "L-shaped" channel in the head of an "I-beam" which forms a portion of the flatbed trailer. A brace surface is also coupled between the stop surface and the base for strength. The use of pairs of these coil racks, one on each side of the payload, along the length of the flatbed trailer, prevents the payload from rolling.

5336027 - Vehicle for carrying coiled rolls

A trailer assembly designed to transport rolls of rolled material, such as rolls of coiled steel. The assembly comprises a floor pan, one or more bunks, each of which comprises two opposed inclined members of a size and configuration to hold the roll off the floor pan, two laterally moveable side locks for each of the rolls, a lid enclosure which is hingedly moveable frontwardly or rearwardly between an open and a closed position, the lid when in the closed position forming a tight seal with the floor pan, and a stand for the lid when in the open position.

5044846 - Compliant tiedown system for securing a cask for transporting radioactive materials to a vehicle - Owned by Westinghouse Electric Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA)

A tiedown system for releasably securing a cask of the type used to transport radioactive waste to a cradle assembly that is mounted onto the deck of a trailer is disclosed herein. The tiedown system includes a trunnion securing assembly for each of the opposing trunnions of the cask, as well as a compliant linkage connected between the trunnion securing assemblies and the cradle assembly for biasing the cask trunnions toward the cradle assembly with a tiedown force that remains substantially constant despite angular displacements of the trunnions which may occur when the trailer traverses rough or uneven roads. The compliant linkage includes a pair of inverted L-shaped levers for each of the opposing trunnion securing assemblies, as well as a tie-bar which is both axially and rotatably movable within a lower portion of the cradle assembly. The end portions of the tie-bar are threaded, one end of each of the levers is pivotally connected to one of the trunnion securing assemblies, while the other end is pivotally connected to an end portion of the tie-bar by way of a threaded coupling. Each of the levers is in turn pivotally connected to the walls of the cradle and configured so as to convert vertical displacements of the cask trunnions caused by rough or uneven roads into horizontal displacements which in turn move the horizontally-oriented tie-bar to and fro, thereby avoiding the generation of localized stresses between the cask trunnions, the cradle assembly and the trailer deck and frame while maintaining a substantially constant tiedown force between the cask and the cradle. The compliant linkage also allows the trunnion securing assemblies to be quickly connected or disconnected from the cask trunnions.

5192046 - Processor support - Owned by Steelcase Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI)

A computer processor support or vertical stand is provided including a pair of opposed, coupled support members, each having a vertically extending end portion and a horizontally extending foot portion with an integral rack. A pawl member extends parallel to the foot portion and includes a hook. The pawl member is hingedly connected to the support member and includes an actuator which is actuatable to pivotally move the hook. A pair of the devices can be positioned in opposing relationship about a computer placed on edge so that the pair can be convergingly clamped onto the computer with the hook positively but releasably engaging the rack.

6523482 - Bulk material transport system

A bulk material carrier in a bulk material transport system includes a high strength high density polyethylene (HDPE) flexible sheet material attached by clamps at two opposite edges to box beam supports forming a bulk material carrying sling, e.g., for carrying bales of municipal waste. The supports extend beyond the sheet material forming extensions. Rail gondola cars and truck trailers are fitted with frames which releasably secure the support extensions. Pocket members secured to the frames releasably secure the extensions and supported carrier during transport of the rail car or truck to preclude displacement of the supports and carrier horizontally. The rail car frames form four carrier receiving compartments and a truck trailer frame is arranged to carry a single carrier. The supports have fork lift truck pockets to permit the loaded or empty carriers to be transferred between rail cars and truck trailers.
